    Abstract: An apparatus for use with an automotive vehicle including an internal combustion engine and an automatic transmission operable in a selected one of positions including "park", "neutral" and "drive" positions. A control signal is produced to limit the speed of the engine below a predetermined value when the transmission is in the "neutral" position. The control signal is interrupted when the transmission is in the "park" position.
