  • Publication number: 20250007450
Abstract: An accessory device that can be utilized in conjunction with a solar panel is disclosed. The accessory device includes a voltage converter for converting a first direct current (DC) from the solar panel to a second DC, a capacitor bank and a controller for modulating and conditioning the second DC, a battery for storing the conditioned DC, and a networking module. The networking module includes a processor, multiple memory devices, a first and second network interface cards, and a connector for receiving an axillary accessory device to be operated in conjunction with the accessory device.

  • Publication number: 20240364109
Abstract: An energy monitoring device is disclosed. The monitoring device includes a network communication module, a date-time module, an electric power measurement module, a memory module, and a transaction construction module. The network communication module allows the energy monitoring device to communicate with another device on a peer-to-peer network. The date-time module keeps track of local date/time information. The electric power measurement module measures an amount of electric power produced/consumed by a power-generating/power-consuming entity. The transaction construction module constructs a blockchain transaction that incorporates the unique cryptographic identifier, the local date/time information, and the measured amount of electric power produced/consumed, and then places the blockchain transaction onto the 2peer-to-peer network for verification by a one or more nodes that comprises a blockchain.

  • Publication number: 20240162746
Abstract: A method and system for regulating power consumption on an electric power grid is disclosed. Blockchain miners are used as a load bank that can be modulated quickly to accommodate spikes or dips in power generated from wind and solar power producers. The cryptocurrency generated by the blockchain miners allows electric grid owners to recoup the costs of higher overall power production, and accommodates fluctuations that are characteristic of wind and solar power generation devices because the fluctuations from wind and solar devices can be matched by modulating the computational speed of the blockchain miners in equal amounts, thus matching the overall demand and production of the power on the electric grid.
