Patent number: 5442835Abstract: A card screen and a lickerin screen are provided for a forty inch carding machine having the usual side ribs and end blanks. The grid bars in both the card screen and the lickerin screen are of triangular configuration in cross-section and are structured to provide increased air flow for the removal of trash. One side of each grid bar extends downwardly in use at an angle of about 50.degree. to the radii of the main cylinder, or lickerin roll, another side extends radially from the main cylinder, and the third side extends between the first two sides in closely spaced substantially parallel relation to the main screen. There is no center rib and the grid bars extend the entire distance between the side ribs.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1994Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Jenkins Metal CorporationInventors: Fletcher Walker, Thomas A. Patent number: 4685285Abstract: According to the invention, a balloon ring is supported in concentric position about each spindle on a spinning frame by a bracket supported by a mounting rod that is in turn supported on the free ends of air cylinders mounted beside and correspondingly movable with the ring rail. The pistons in the air cylinders are initially extended to support the balloon rings at a first position. That position has been determined to be in an optimum area for control of the yarn balloon during movement of the ring rail through the lower portion of its traversing motion to build the bottom half of the package. As the rail ring begins to move through the upper portion of its traversing movements and the balloon rings approach the yarn transfer guides, a limit or proximity switch is activated to retract the pistons of the air cylinders and uniformly lower the balloon rings to a second or retracted position closer to the ring rail, and positioned to control the balloon while the upper half of the package continues to build.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1986Date of Patent: August 11, 1987Assignee: Jenkins Metal CorporationInventor: Robert C. Patent number: 4265017Abstract: A pocket knife with a retractable blade wherein a blade is mounted within the handle for generally axial reciprocatory movement to operative position beyond one end of the handle and inoperative position within the handle. A novel pivotally mounted leaf spring cooperates with a suitably shaped trackway to positively support and lock the knife blade in each of its extreme positions.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1979Date of Patent: May 5, 1981Assignee: Jenkins Metal CorporationInventor: Walter W. Patent number: 4211003Abstract: A knife sheath including a spring pressed locking pin engagable with a hole in the handle of the knife to positively retain the knife in the sheath. The sheath also includes a buckle fastened to one side of the sheath and an adapter including a strap extending along the same side of the sheath and engagable with the buckle to provide a loop for retaining the sheath on a belt extending about a person's waist. Alternatively the strap may be removed from the buckle and the buckle connected with a shoulder harness to support the sheath and its knife upside down under a person's shoulder.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1978Date of Patent: July 8, 1980Assignee: Jenkins Metal CorporationInventor: Walter W. Patent number: 4074391Abstract: A combination web cover and suction chamber define a crush roll plenum which communicates with and extends forwardly from the doffer plenum of a suction cleaning system for carding machines. It includes a suction opening closely spaced from the top crush roll and its scraper blade to continuously pick up accumulations of lint taken from the crush roll by the scraper blade. Intermittent blasts of compressed air are directed toward the scraper blade to purge it of accumulations of foreign matter which is blown into the continuous suction current.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1977Date of Patent: February 21, 1978Assignee: Jenkins Metal CorporationInventors: Robert B.
