Abstract: The specification discloses a structural connector for pivotally connecting two support members to form a folding truss. The support members can be pivoted with respect to the connector between collapsed and extended positions. The connector includes a generally planar body, a locator tab extending from the body and secured between the support members when in their extended position to orient the connector with respect to the connector, and spring clips extending from the body to lock the support members in their extended position. In an alternative embodiment, the connector includes two of the locator tabs to maintain the support members in spaced relation so that a ridge member can be positioned therebetween.
Abstract: A skeletal framework is provided for supporting furniture, shelf, wall and other types of structural panels. The framework comprises a plurality of elongate frame members, each having a generally rectangular cross section. At least one side of each of the frame members is provided with an axially extending slot. Each of the axially extending slots is provided with a generally dovetail-shaped cross section. A plurality of corner connectors are provided for interconnecting first, second and third frame members which usually extend in mutually orthogonal directions. The corner connectors are each provided with first, second and third extensions for extending into and engaging the axially extending slots disposed on the first, second and third frame members, respectively. A plurality of corner locks are provided, one corner lock being received in each corner member.
Abstract: This invention relates to a building construction and method and a kit therefor wherein preferably a spaced front and back end panels are provided with spaced guide blocks positioned on the end panels for receiving therebetween purlins which extend between the end panels. Preferably a templet is used to determine the silhouette of the panels and the position of the guide blocks. The purlins are attached to each of the end panels and are guided to and supported in the correct position by the guide blocks. This construction is relatively simple and inexpensive by minimizing the requirement of fabrication of subassemblies such as rafter supports and the like.
