  • Patent number: 6579122
Abstract: A connector for a portable or hand-held electronic device is mainly composed of male and female connectors. Two sides of the male connector are disposed with inserting ports caused by an U-shaped metal piece on the outside thereof. A narrow sliding groove, a positioning opening, a flat sliding groove and a flat inserting opening are respectively disposed on two sides of the male connector. A hook piece, an inserting hook piece and a convex retaining piece are on the U-shaped metal piece for allowing the U-shaped metal piece to be tightly assembled to the male connector. The rear of the U-shaped metal piece bends to form two contact footing pieces, and together with another contact footing piece are used for fastening the male connector horizontally or vertically onto the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6457982
Abstract: A connector interference prevention grounding mechanism comprises a circuit board with a connector on one side. The connector has a plurality of slots, each slot contains a sleeve internally. One metal board each is on top and bottom of the connector. Internal to the side slots on both end of the connector has a grounding sleeve. A C-shaped spring tongue is in the middle of the grounding sleeve. A convex point is on the bottom of the metal board and beneath the C-shaped spring tongue. Therefore by the C-shaped spring tongue of the grounding sleeve contacting the convex point of the metal board, the grounding sleeve also connects to the circuitry of the circuit board so that the electromagnetic wave and static electricity absorbed by the metal board can be conducted to the circuit board through the grounding sleeve to eliminate the electromagnetic wave and static electricity.

  • Patent number: 6409523
Abstract: A connector with a plurality of slots for incorporating terminals. The rear legs of the terminals are secured onto the circuit board. The legs of the terminals are molded as having a contact column and a contact plate, with the contact plate at the lateral side of the contact column. The contact column goes through the through contact of the circuit board and is soldered to the circuit board. The contact plate is attached to the surface contact of the circuit board and secured by SMD. In case SMD is not able to secure the contact plate to the circuit board, soldering can be used instead.

  • Patent number: 6402532
Abstract: A pressing bar for connecting legs of connectors includes a connector with a plurality of slots. A sleeve is inside each slot with a connecting leg that is soldered on a connecting point of a circuit board. The connecting legs are further fixed onto the circuit board with a pressing bar. The pressing bar includes a pair of pressing ears on both ends and a plurality of troughs on the bottom. A fastening hole is on both ends of the connector. By placing the pressing ear of the pressing bar into the fastening holes of the connector, the pressing bar is fixed on top of the connector and the troughs of the pressing bar are firmly attached on top of the connecting legs of the sleeves. Thus the connecting legs are pressed on top of the connecting points so as to avoid bad connections and open circuit conditions.
