Abstract: A method of selecting a starting image at which to start displaying an image stream comprises the iterative steps of displaying a plurality of candidate images from within the image stream for selection by a user of the closest candidate image, and displaying a plurality of candidate images from within a time range of the image stream close to the candidate image selected by the user in response to the first step. This allows very fast and effective selection of a starting image. It can be used to quickly skip advertisement break within a recorded television program.
