    Abstract: An adverse event reporting system and related methods are provided. Aspects relate to a associating a unique identifier of a device with resolution information configured to be automatically transmitted in response to an adverse event with the device. A consumer experiencing an adverse event with a remote device may use a communications device, such as a mobile phone, to capture and/or transmit the unique identifier, which may be located on or by the device. In one embodiment, capturing or deciphering the identifier causes the communications device to be directed to a virtual address for reporting the adverse event. The unique identifier may be used to automatically transmit resolution information to a second communications device that is not associated with the consumer. The second communications device may be associated with a vendor responsible for operation of the implicated device. The resolution information may comprise the identity and/or location of the device.
