Patent number: 12179462Abstract: In one example embodiment, disclosed is a polyethylene film comprising a core layer comprising at least 85 wt. % high-density polyethylene. Further, the polyethylene film comprises a first tie layer on a first side of the core layer consisting essentially of: (i) at least about 50 wt. % high-density polyethylene; and (ii) from 5 wt. % through 40 wt. % of each of: (a) an olefin-block copolymer; and (b) low-density polyethylene polymer and/or ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer. Further still, the polyethylene film comprises a first skin layer on the first tie layer, wherein the first skin layer comprises a polyethylene-based polymer, silicone, and antiblock agent, wherein the polyethylene film is coextruded and oriented either monoaxially or biaxially. Yet further, the polyethylene film is adhered to face stock, which optionally excludes silicone.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2024Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: Jindal Innovation Center SRLInventors: Eric T. Publication number: 20240294001Abstract: This disclosure provides compositions and methods for an oriented film that may include a core layer consisting essentially of biaxially oriented linear low-density polyethylene, wherein the core layer has a first side and a second side. Further, the film may include a first sealant layer consisting essentially of biaxially oriented linear low-density polyethylene on the first side, and a second sealant layer consisting essentially of biaxially oriented linear low-density polyethylene on the first side, wherein the linear low-density polyethylenes in each of the film's layers may be of more than one type/grade, have the same or different densities, or both. Further still, the film is 30 ?m or less in thickness, has a water-vapor transmission rate of ?1 g/m2/d at 38° C. and 90% relative humidity, and has an oxygen transmission rate of ?100 cm3/m2/d at 23° C. and 0% relative humidity.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2024Publication date: September 5, 2024Applicant: Jindal Innovation Center SRLInventor: Benoît Ambroise

Patent number: 11247440Abstract: Disclosed are compositions, methods and uses for thin multi-layered films that may include a metallizable skin layer that include polyethylene polymer(s), wherein the metallizable skin layer may be treated one or more times. The multi-layered films include a core layer and a sealant layer, wherein each of these layers includes metallocene-catalyzed, linear, low-density polyethylene. The core layer is located between the metallizable skin layer and the sealant layer. These films may include one or more additives in any of the layers and/or include one or more tie layers. The multi-layered films may be biaxially oriented, have a haze equal to or below 5%, and have an elastic modulus equal to or below 350 N/mm2. The multi-layered films may also include a metallized layer on the metallizable skin layer, a coated layer on the metallizable skin layer, and/or be laminated to a polyethylene-based polymer, such as polyethylene terephthalate.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2018Date of Patent: February 15, 2022Assignee: Jindal Innovation Center SRLInventor: Benoît Ambroise
