Abstract: An attractive portable air cleaner effectively purifies air in a room or office for added comfort and a healthier environment. Instead of using expensive custom-made filters, the air cleaner uses regular toilet paper or paper towels for customer convenience and lower customer costs. A quiet blower system circulates air through the air cleaner. Ion emitters are positioned near the intake and collector plates support and charge the paper media.

Abstract: A safe cordless telephone is provided for use in showers. The user-friendly cordless telephone can also be used when taking a bath or outside when it is raining. The dependable cordless comprises a special portable cordless handset with a water-resistant housing that provides a handset body. The handset body is made of an impact-resistant plastic capable of withstanding water pressure and is insulated to prevent electrical shock. A water-resistant antenna extends upwardly from the handset. A battery seal is positioned about the battery chamber to prevent water from entering into the battery chamber. An elastomeric rib is snugly positioned about the front and back of the handset to prevent water from entering into the interior of the handset and shorting the telephone circuitry. The earpiece and mouthpiece of the handset can also have water impermeable membranes to prevent water from passing into the earpiece and mouthpiece of the handset.

Abstract: Sootless ionizers are provided which greatly reduce the accumulation of ugly black soot on and about the ionizers and adjacent walls or ceiling in the room in which the air is being purified. To this end, the dependable improved ionizers are specially arranged to provide air channels which direct the flow of air past the needles or other ion emitters so that the ions are dispersed through the room for enhanced air purification and the ionized particles are prevented (blown away) from being collected in the ionizers. In one embodiment, the improved ionizers include a plug-in ionizer (PI-1) with an upwardly converging air channel, a curved deflector, and upper and lower sets of air channeling ribs to direct the flow of air past the ion emitters and way from the ionizers. In a second embodiment, the improved ionizer comprises a plug-in ionizer (PI-2) which is similar to the first plug-in ionizer (PI-1) except that it has a single elongated set of air channeling ribs and a motor driven fan to increase air flow.
