Abstract: An apparatus for illuminating wine or other liquids, whereby the user can limit the amount of sediment that is allowed to escape from the bottle. The apparatus comprises a collar, an arm, a body, a light source, and a switch. The collar can be hingedly attached to the arm with a spring-loaded hinge. The collar can have a hole large enough to accommodate the neck of a majority of wine or other bottles currently manufactured. The body can be attached to the arm via a retaining member, such that the body is freely positionable along the arm. The light source can be fixedly attached to the body, or hingedly attached thereto.
