Abstract: A needle for knitting or crochet includes a needle tip of a material resistant to bending and a flexible loop-receiving rod secured to the rear end of the needle tip. A node is provided at the rear end of the loop-receiving rod. The needle includes a loop braking element slidable positioned on the rod. The node precludes the loop braking element from slipping off the rod. The loop braking element is a ring or a disk formed with a radial bore receiving the rod therethrough and a recess in which the end of the rod can be snapped.
