Patent number: 6880220Abstract: A process produces a welded seamless PIPE having good yield strength and excellent corrosion and/or erosion resistance. Up to a maximum outside diameter corrosion and/or erosion resistant CRA PIPE is cold worked from a welded hollow, rather than using the traditional seamless pierced hollow method. A high-speed roll-forming mill is also utilized, rather than using the slow traditional break press to form the welded hollow. Welded hollow dimensions can be achieved which comply with the method of cold working's capability to produce the yield strengths and dimensional tolerances required to meet the service criteria of the PIPE's intended application.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2004Date of Patent: April 19, 2005Assignee: John Gandy CorporationInventor: John Gandy

Patent number: 6722706Abstract: A thread form for a tubular connection of the type having a pin member adapted to be made-up with a box member to form a pipe joint as shown. The pin member has pin threads with thread crests and thread roots which are adapted to be made-up with a mating box member having a complimentary thread structure. The pin thread crests are formed between a stab flank and a load flank of the pin thread. The pin thread has a multi-facited complex profile stab flank for engaging a mating stab flank on the complimentary box member to provide a wedging interfit between the surfaces of the pin and box threads. The pin and box threads are also helically structured as a wedge.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2001Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: John Gandy CorporationInventor: Kris L. Church

Patent number: 6523615Abstract: A method of producing fluids from a well bore by polishing the inside diameter surface of a down-hole tubular. The method includes the steps of providing a down-hole tubular having an inside diameter and being made of a carbon steel alloy or a high chromium alloy, preparing an inside diameter surface of the down-hole tubular, subjecting the inside diameter surface to an electropolishing treatment to produce a smooth surface being slick and essentially non-stick, locating the down-hole tubular within the well bore adjacent a fluid-producing formation, and producing the fluids through the inside diameter of the down-hole tubular. The electropolishing treatment can also be applied to the inside diameter surfaces of carbon steel drill pipe.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2001Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: John Gandy CorporationInventors: John B. Patent number: 5906400Abstract: A pipe couple is shown for connecting two pipelines of different materials together in a well environment which prevents deterioration of the pipe due to galvanic action. The couple achieves its purpose by coating the interior of the more noble pipe section with a wear-resistant, non-conductive coating which prevents electrolytic action between the two dissimilar metals. It also achieves high pullout resistance while maintaining minimum outer dimensions to facilitate use of the couple in all types of wells including oil, gas and waste injection wells.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Assignee: John Gandy CorporationInventor: John Gandy
