Patents Assigned to Johnsen & Jorgensen (Plastics) Limited
  • Patent number: 5207783
Abstract: The present invention provides a one piece plastic closure of the type including a cap part, a tear band which is removable and an anchor band. A hinge member connects the anchor band to the cap part so that when the tear band is removed, the cap part can hinge relative to the anchor band. The anchor band is intended to be retained by the container to which the closure is applied by push fitting so that the anchor band cannot be removed from the container. The invention further provides weakened sections in the anchor band which will fracture if an attempt is made to pry the closure from the container without removal of the tear band, but which will remain intact when the closure is applied to the container by push fitting.

  • Patent number: 4715506
Abstract: A container closure and container body assembly in which the container body has a mouth and an external annular or substantially annular projecting bead around the outside of the body below the mouth and in which the closure comprises a cap part and a tamper resistant band connected to the cap part by frangible means in which the tamper resistant band is provided with a plurality of spaced apart individual lugs on the inner surface of the band to co-operate with the external projecting bead around the outside of the container body.

  • Patent number: 4629081
Abstract: This invention comprises a two part closure, for a container, comprising a top cap hingedly connected to an inner cap which is adapted to be semi-permanently positioned over the mouth of an associated container, a depending skirt on the inner cap and a trigger forming part of the skirt of the inner cap, actuation of the trigger normally being prevented by engagement of the trigger with an arcuate bead on the outside of the associated container whereby the trigger forms a locking means to hold the top cap in its closed position until the closure is angularly displaced relatively to the container into a predetermined position in which the trigger is unlocked and can be actuated manually to release the top cap for opening.

  • Patent number: 4567992
Abstract: This invention provides a tubular container body and closure assembly with a smooth or flush outside surface. The assembly is provided with bayonet type child resistant closure and tear away tamper resistant band. The container body has a recess to receive a teartab on the tear away band so that the flush outside surface is maintained, the recess in the body being so positioned that when the tear tab is aligned with the recess an internal bead on the closure forming part of the bayonet type locking arrangement is aligned with an external locking slot on the body so that the closure can be applied to the body by a longitudinal downward movement.

  • Patent number: 4566602
Abstract: The invention provides a container closure with a top, a skirt depending from the top, a tear-away tamper resistant band connected to the skirt by frangible means and a tear tab on the band arranged so that it is inclined upwardly and outwardly in order to ensure that when a container with a closure in position is being packed into a carbon bottom end first the tear tab on the closures does not catch on the rim of the carton. Preferably the tear tab is connected by a frangible tongue to a thumb push on the skirt and disposed immediately above the tear tab.

  • Patent number: 4555035
Abstract: The present invention provides a closure for a container. The closure is provided with a tunnel member into which any appropriate implement such as the handle of a teaspoon can be inserted when it is desired to manipulate the closure e.g. for opening. The provision of the tunnel member is of great assistance to people lacking in manual dexterity.

  • Patent number: 4461391
Abstract: A tamper-resistant screw closure for a bottle or the like having an external screw thread in which a cap with a top and a depending skirt and a tamper-resistant band below the skirt has spaced apart frangible tongues connecting with the skirt and the tamper-resistant band and the tamper-resistant band has internal projections engaging below the external projecting means on the bottle to resist movement of the band when the closure is unscrewed so that the frangible tongues break to show that the closure has been removed.

  • Patent number: 4353472
Abstract: A closure cap for closing the mouth of a container. The cap has a plug forming an inner member, and an outer member with a depending skirt. When the closure cap is in operative position on a container the inner member is arranged coaxially within the upper part of the outer member with the plug in position to close the mouth of the container. When in this position the upper part of the outer member is positioned above the mouth of the container and the skirt of the outer member embraces and engages with the outer surface of the container around the mouth.

  • Patent number: 4065017
Abstract: This invention provides a container and closure assembly. The closure consists of a plug which fits into the mouth of the container in such a position that removal of the closure is prevented until the closure is turned to bring a recessed thumb grip on the side of the closure into registration with a gap in the container wall. When the closure is in this position the closure can be pushed out of the container by passing the thumb of the user through the gap.
