  • Patent number: 6694126
Abstract: A digital memo recorder in a vehicle for recording/play-back of messages and tagging the messages for future reference. The digital recorder is microprocessor controlled to allow direct sequential access for playing back messages. An auditory and visual indication reminds a user of stored messages. Vehicle performance characteristics may be stored as message reminders for future reference. A communications medium couples the digital recording device to the various vehicle functions for courtesy retrieval. The communications medium may be both hard-wired and wireless.

  • Patent number: 6404326
Abstract: A redundant power and communications network that is generally fault tolerant and generally immune to single point failure. A primary or master node communicates via a standard multiplex protocol to the control infrastructure of a vehicle. The master node, in a subnetwork or supplementary communications bus, further communicates with one or a plurality of slave nodes in a local vehicle area or structure such as a seat. The main multiplex network and subnetwork are bridged by the master node, which transfers information between the main multiplex network and the subnetwork.

  • Patent number: 6113837
Abstract: A plastic sheet capable of being shaped by a cold room temperature tool, said sheet being a semi-rigid thermoformable plastic foam doped with carbon black having a concentration within a range of 0.0000081 to 0.0081% by weight of the foam. And a method of forming a product from such sheet by heating it to its thermoforming temperature range by infrared (IR) heat and placing and compressing the sheet between mold parts of a cold tool, the IR heat preferably being generated by quartz lamp electric heaters.
