  • Patent number: 4790320
Abstract: Apparatus for the parallel processing of ultrasonic information to derive simultaneously multiple vectors of ultrasonic information per ultrasonic transmission. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus includes for each transducer element in a transducer array an analog to digital converter and a delay processing subsystem associated with each analog to digital converter. Each delay processing subsystem includes means for applying a main delay time period to each received digitized signal and a first and a second incremental time delay means for delaying by some additional incremental time period the digitized main delay signal.

  • Patent number: 4785816
Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer probe is provided, in which the transducer is oscillated by a crank shaft for sector scanning. The crank shaft is driven by a motor having a moving magnet stack assembly in a tubular set of electromagnetic coils. The motor also moves a bimetallic pin through a position sensor coil so that the position of the transducer is represented by the detected inductance change of the coil.

  • Patent number: 4706131
Abstract: A thermally developed photographic copier is provided having two controls, one for adjusting the contrast, or blackness, of an image, and another for adjusting background contrast. A microprocessor samples and processes the settings of these controls to produce a video pedestal determined bythe background contrast control, and a gain control signal adjusted for effects of the background contrast setting to keep amplified video singals within the dynamic range necessary for the image contrast setting. Video signals used to expose light-sensitive paper or film are amplified in accordance with the gain control signal and combined with the video pedestal for desired background contrast.

  • Patent number: 4672396
Abstract: A hard copy recorder is provided in which paper or film is moved along a paper path by a motor-driven roller. A tension-measuring dancer measures paper or film tension. The position of the dancer is sensed by an optical sensor, which produces a signal representative of paper or film tension. The paper or film tension signal is used to selectively couple one signal from a number of sources of predetermined different frequencies to the motor to control its speed in accordance with the sensed paper tension.

  • Patent number: 4601292
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic probe is provided which performs simultaneous ultrasonic imaging and Doppler flow measurement. The Doppler transducer is mounted for rotation by a mechanical assembly, which permits the Doppler beam to be steered during imaging to the point in the body where a flow measurement is to be taken. As the Doppler transducer is rotated, a variable impedance device within the probe is adjusted in correspondence with the transducer rotation so as to provide an indication signal of the direction in which the Doppler beam is being directed.
