  • Publication number: 20130318765
Abstract: A universal mounting bracket for outboard marine equipment is provided. The universal mounting bracket includes a first member mounted to one end of an arm, and a second member mounted to the other end of the arm. The first and second members mate with the arm to define respective first and second adjustment axes. The arm is adjustable relative to the first member about the first axis. The second member is adjustable relative to the arm about the second axis. Adjustment about the first and second axes allows a user to govern the distance of marine equipment mounted to the second coupling relative to a watercraft.

  • Publication number: 20130215719
Abstract: A 360-degree sonar imaging system and method are provided. The system includes a sonar transducer assembly pod with tilted mechanically scanning sonar (MSS) transducers that is deployed into the water below the bottom of the boat. The system provides photo-like imaging of an area surrounding a boat which does not require the boat to be in motion. The pod is deployed by a variety of manual, (trolling motor, transom) or powered mechanical (bow, transom, or fairing block) deployment mechanisms to allow for deployment and retraction of the sonar transducer assembly. In particular embodiments, the MSS system communicates with a side-scan-sonar-imaging-equipped control head unit to display the images generated therefrom. Various speeds and sector scans are provided, as well as a locked side-scan sonar mode. Waypoint navigation and split screen views are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8495963
Abstract: A shallow water anchor is provided. The shallow water anchor comprises a first anchor extension and a second anchor extension axially received by a housing. The first anchor extension is axially received by the second anchor extension such that the first and second anchor extensions are sequentially deployable from the housing an actuation arrangement. The actuation arrangement is controlled by a control interface that is operable to detect when the shallow water anchor has reached a fully extended state and fully retracted state. The shallow water anchor further includes a biasing compensator that compensates for fluctuations in the overall depth of water the anchor is deployed in due to waves or other anomalies.

  • Patent number: 8406083
Abstract: A flasher sonar device includes a flasher that produces light output pulses along a flasher ring display based upon sonar returns. A user interface selects between a normal mode and a zoom mode. When the normal mode is selected, a controller drives the flasher to display a normal range. When the zoom mode is selected, the controller divides the normal range into a first range and a second range, compresses the first range into a compressed range, enlarges the second range into an enlarged range, and drives the flasher to display the enlarged range interleaved with the compressed range.

  • Publication number: 20120266929
Abstract: A tent having a liner and liner including a dead air space region inhibiting convective heat transfer is provided. The dead air space region is provided between first and second layers of the liner. A plurality of dead air space regions may be provided that are separated by baffles. The one or more dead air space regions may include air relief slits that permit selective fluid communication between the surroundings and the dead air space regions to inflate and deflate the dead air space regions. The dead air space regions can be depressurized and/or gravity filling. The dead air space regions are provided, at least, proximate the roof sections of the liner of the tent.

  • Publication number: 20120232719
Abstract: A system for controlling a marine vessel that includes a sonar depth finder configured to display a chart for a body of water. The chart has depth information for the body of water, and is programmed to allow a user to select from a plurality of depths indicated on the sonar depth finder display. The sonar depth finder further is configured to generate a route for the marine vessel. The route includes a path through the body of water where each point along the path is at the desired depth. The system includes a vessel control device in communication with the sonar depth finder. The vessel control device is configured to receive transmissions from the sonar depth finder. The transmissions include the route generated by the sonar depth finder. The vessel control device is further configured to automatically direct the marine vessel along the route.

  • Publication number: 20120137948
Abstract: A scupper plug with a one-way valve is provided. The scupper plug permits one-way flow of water through a scupper drain so that water will drain through the scupper drain but not flow back up through the drain and into the passenger area of a water vessel. The scupper plug has a frame that carries a valve structure. A valve member is mounted to the valve structure. The valve member sealingly engages the frame to form a seal therewith.

  • Patent number: 8191565
Abstract: A wire tray and tent frame structural members are provided. The structural members include a utility channel or C-shaped channels to which wire trays can be mounted. More particularly, mounting structures of the wire tray insert into or otherwise engage the utility channel or engage the C-shaped channels and secure the wire tray to the structural members. The utility channel or C-shaped channels can include at least one undercut to prevent removal or disengagement of the mounting structure of the wire tray from the structural member. Similarly, methods of using the wire tray including resiliently biasing mounting structure of the wire tray to attach it to the structural member are provided.

  • Publication number: 20120015566
Abstract: A trolling motor control system that includes a main controller configured interface with a trolling motor. The main controller is configured to control the output power and directional heading of the trolling motor. In at least one embodiment, the main controller has an electronic interface configured to establish a two-way day data connection between the main controller and an electronic GPS-equipped mapping device. This two-way connection allows the main controller to use data stored on the GPS-equipped mapping device to execute functions of the trolling motor control system. It also allows functions of the trolling motor control system to be executed via controls on the GPS-equipped mapping device.

  • Patent number: 8051868
Abstract: A tent including a structural member and an end cap insertable into the structural member and a method of forming a tent are provided. The structural member is preferably a rafter. The rafter has C-channels aligned with support troughs of the end cap. The C-channels and support troughs receive edge portions of a fabric panel therein to secure the fabric panel to the rafter. The end cap supports the weight of the fabric panel during assembly to reduce or avoid engagement of the fabric panel with corners of the C-channel or burs formed in the end of the C-channel of the rafter as the fabric panel is fed through the C-channel. The end cap may also include an optional tension push down bar assembly for providing additional tensioning of the fabric panel.
