Abstract: The invention relates to a method of conveying, slicing and packaging half loaves, starting from whole bread loaves. The loaves, which are conveyed perpendicularly to their longitudinal direction, are sliced in halves by a band slicer arranged in the path of conveyance, and one half from each loaf is turned 180.degree. about an axis extending perpendicularly to the plane of conveyance of the loaves, and the halves of each loaf are positioned one behind the other, are sliced into slices and are packaged in bags. The half to be turned is accelerated in forward direction and is brought in front of the other half from the respective loaf during turning. The invention also relates to an apparatus including a turn table to turn said half.
Abstract: In a method of packaging sliced loafs into bags, each loaf is supplied from a slicing machine and is pushed into an opened bag by pusher means. The bags are supplied laterally connected within a strip of bags and each loaf is then pushed transverse to its direction of supply into the laterally held opened bag by the pusher means. The pusher means is circulated within a closed path. The invention also includes an apparatus for performing this method and a foil strip of bags for use in the apparatus.
Abstract: An apparatus for slicing a loaf of bread includes a frame, first and second drums rotatably coupled to the frame and aligned in a vertical plane, at least one endless slicing band having a cutting edge being passed around the first and second drums to form a figure eight with an up leg and a down leg with the cutting edge of the band up leg facing in the same direction as the cutting edge of the band down leg. A mechanism is provided for rotating the first drum to drive the slicing band in a circle so that the cutting edge of the band up leg and the cutting edge of the band down leg cross each other at a point. The cutting edges have a horizontal velocity at the crossing point so that the cutting edges can engage and pull the loaf through the crossing point at a predetermined velocity. The apparatus further comprises a conveying element for horizontally conveying the loaf at a predetermined velocity into the slicing band at the crossing point.
Abstract: Slicing device for breads, having a plurality of endless slicer bands which extend substantially parallel to each other and which are passed over drums. At least one of the drums is automatically adjustable and acts as a tensioning means for maintianing a substantially constant tension in the slicer bands. The adjustable drum is supported by cylinder-plunger assemblies one at each side of said drum. The cylinder-plunger assemblies are operable independently of each other. The supports of both drums are connected to each other by a bracket which is mounted to a stationary frame on one side of the respective drum. Both brackets extend in between both parts of the slicer bands.
