Patent number: 8459396Abstract: A building machine, especially a road finishing machine, comprising a presence detection system. The presence detection system comprises a sensor which is integrated in the control panel of the building machine. By means of the sensor a distance measurement can be carried out, which determines whether the operator is properly seated on the driver's seat of the building machine or whether he stands properly at the standing work place. In order to determine the presence a tolerance range may be specified, which allows a slight movement of the operator on the driver's seat. If the operator approaches the limits of the tolerance range he is asked in time by warning signals to be seated again properly on the driver's seat or adopt a proper position at the standing work place. If the sensor detects no operator on the driver's seat or at the standing work place all of the functions of the building machine are stopped in order to make sure that the work site is safe.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2011Date of Patent: June 11, 2013Assignee: Joseph Vögele AGInventor: Klaus Oettinger

Patent number: 8342774Abstract: A conveying system for conveying material having a tendency to stick, in particular a mobile conveying system for paving material used for constructing road mats has at least one conveying element which is accommodated in a conveying channel. The conveying element is directly or indirectly driven by at least one combustion engine. The conveying system has a primary heating device predominantly for the conveying element and/or the conveying system. Furthermore, the conveying system has at least one secondary heating device for at least partially relieving the primary heating device. The secondary heating device is operated with direct or indirect exit heat of the combustion engine. Alternatively, a combination of a primary heating device and at least one secondary heating device is provided, which secondary heating device is operated with exit heat originating from the combustion engine in order to at least partially relieve the primary heating device.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2009Date of Patent: January 1, 2013Assignee: Joseph Vögele AGInventor: Steffen Fickeisen

Patent number: 8337118Abstract: A road finisher (1) and a mobile supply unit (4) are described, between which a feed conveyor (7) with a discharge end (7a) is provided. Road finisher (1) and supply unit (4) are movable independently of each other in travel direction (F), and their relative positions with respect to each other can be detected by a sensor means (8, 18). To automate such a system as much as possible and to make it useable under all paving situations, it is suggested that the sensor means (8, 18) should include a position sensor (9) which has assigned thereto at least two mutually spaced-apart reference elements (10) for determining the position of the discharge end (7a) in, and transversely to, the direction of travel (F).Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2010Date of Patent: December 25, 2012Assignee: Joseph Vögele AGInventors: Martin Buschmann, Steffen Fickeisen

Patent number: 8267619Abstract: A road paver F has a paving screed E the working width of which can be adjusted continuously. In order to further enlarge the working width in steps at least one paving screed extension can be mounted. A distributing auger is supported in a distributing auger support. Distributing auger extensions can be mounted to the distributing auger. Scraper blades are arranged in casting travelling direction behind distributing auger. At least a scraper blade section functionally associated to a mounted paving screed extension is carried by a channel sheet steel plate being part of the mounted distributing auger extension. The scraper blade section can be adjusted in height direction together with the distributing auger support via a drive which can be remotely controlled during a casting process.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2009Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Assignee: Joseph Voegele AGInventor: Roman Munz
