Abstract: The invention relates to a centrifugal pump, especially for blood, comprising a pump rotor which is arranged in a rotational manner and without a bearing in a liquid-tight and gas-tight closed housing, except for at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening. The rotor is also the rotor of a drive motor. The rotor is symmetrical with respect to the centre plane thereof and comprises an upper and a lower covering. The rotor and/or the pump housing are formed in such a way that the axial distances between the upper and the lower coverings and the upper and lower housing walls are smaller in the radially inner region of the rotor than in the radially outer region.
Abstract: A device for establishing an isolated perfusion including a pump arrangement, a venous catheter, and an arterial catheter, for establishing an artificial circulation in a target area of a human or animal body, which artificial circulation is isolated from the systemic circulation. The device has first means for feeding an analysis gas into the artificial circulation, and second means for monitoring whether a blood exchange takes place between the artificial circulation and the systemic circulation.
Abstract: An apparatus for defoaming blood is described, having a surface which comes into contact with blood, said surface being coated with a defoamer which has a hydrophobic component with lipophobic microdomains.
Abstract: An electrical connection element for connecting an electrically insulated end of a wire has a clamping sleeve in which an end of a wire is insertable and clampable, an insulation sleeve connectable with the clamping sleeve and provided with a connecting contact arranged so that, during a connection of the clamping sleeve with the insulation sleeve the connecting contact of the insulation sleeve is brought into contact with an end of a wire with removal of an insulation of the wire, and is then held there.
Abstract: An apparatus for filtering and degassing body fluid has two filter chambers, separated from one another by a filter medium. The first filter chamber is connected to an inflow connector, and the second filter chamber to an outflow connector. An aeration and venting device common to the two filter chambers which is connectable selectably and separately to the first or the second filter chamber.
