  • Patent number: 4387801
Abstract: An improved endless flexible conveying element is set forth. The flexible conveying element is of the type adapted to be mounted on a carrier and to conform with a generally curvilinear endless path for orbital traverse of such endless path. The conveying element has an elongated resiliently deformable portion which includes a longitudinally extending portion located laterally intermediate the longitudinal extending side portions thereof. The resiliently deformable portion of said conveying element laterally flexes to permit the belt to follow laterally curvilinear portions of the endless path in an upright position. The resiliently deformable portion has a tendency to spontaneously assume a natural form thereof, which is configured such that the resiliently deformable portion, when mounted on the carrier, is deformed from its natural form in a manner to provide in the side portions a condition of relative longitudinal tension with respect to the central portion.

  • Patent number: 4372926
Abstract: In connection with the desulfurization and dedusting of flue gas where use is made of a combined spray drying and absorption and the material produced by this process is filtered off from the gas stream together with fly ash, a heating of the flue gas is performed prior to its discharge into the atmosphere by admixture of hot, non-purified flue gas. This admixture takes place so that the flue gas serving for the reheating passes through only a part of the available filter area, which allows the remaining part of the filter area to be kept at a relatively low temperature. This results in a particularly high sulfur dioxide absorption being achieved during the passage of the flue gas through the filter.A baghouse unit divided up in a special manner can be used in the process.

  • Patent number: 4365682
Abstract: A suspension system for the operator compartment of a mine vehicle suitable for working in underground mines having low head room. A pair of vertically extending guide tracks are rigidly secured to a frame member of the mine vehicle. Each of the track members has associated with it a roller bracket constructed so that all moving contact between the roller bracket and the guide track which guides it is a rolling contact. Each roller bracket includes a projecting stud member of substantial construction which passes through an opening in the rear wall of the operator compartment, the two stud members providing the only points of support for the operator compartment. The operator compartment normally rests on and slides over the floor of the mine and by this arrangement is free to move vertically up and down as the elevation of the mine floor changes or when the bottom of the operator compartment encounters obstacles or debris on the mine floor.

  • Patent number: 4363258
Abstract: An all-hydraulic impactor for percussion tools and the like embodying an oil accumulator and an annular sleeve valve. Hydraulic fluid is initially supplied to the accumulator at full supply pressure and is then charged, for example, to three times the supply pressure by a differential piston arrangement. The impactor of the invention minimizes the required volume of the accumulator.

  • Patent number: 4362475
Abstract: A compressor having an inlet valve which includes a valve housing and a control tube having a portion adapted to be in communication with a source of fluid. A piston is normally spring biased away from a valve element which is adapted to be alternately placed in sealing contact with a valve seat and withdrawn from such contact. The piston and valve element are movably mounted on the exterior of the control tube. Orifices in the control tube are adapted to control movement of the piston against the bias of the spring and also to provide a modulating influence as well as additional pressure balancing characteristics. The valve is also adapted to function as a bypass valve, a check valve and a blowdown function.
