  • Patent number: 11747032
Abstract: An air filter essentially for use in woodworking workplaces includes a casing having a top panel, a bottom panel, two sidewalls, a filter gauze, a motor, and whizzer blades. The casing has an inlet anteriorly and an outlet. The casing has therein an inner blocking wall which extends rearward to form two inner sidewalls. The two inner sidewalls are each penetrated by a through hole. The two through holes face each other. The casing further has a curved panel bending in its thickness direction. The curved panel and the two inner sidewalls together define a receiving space. The curved panel curves to an extent corresponding in curvature to part of the outer edges of the whizzer blades and is spaced apart from the whizzer blades by a predetermined distance.

  • Publication number: 20170030813
Abstract: An overload indicator for a hoist includes first and second blocks that connect to the lifting medium (a chain for a chain hoist) at spaced locations. The first and second blocks are held at a spacing by indicator bands so that the lifting medium is slack between the blocks. The indicator bands have weakened portions to deform, stretch or break when subject to a load over a threshold, such as over a lifting capacity of the hoist. Covers are provided over the indicator bands that are closely spaced to define an indicator gap. If the indicator bands stretch, the indicator gap increases to indicate an overload condition.

  • Publication number: 20160339562
Abstract: In a work holding device, first and second work holding jaws are provided. A force conveying shaft connects between the first and second work holding jaws and is operable to move the first and second work holding jaws relative to one another. A handle connects to the force conveying shaft so that the handle is operable to operate the shaft to move the first and second work holding jaws relative to one another. A handle disengagement apparatus connects between the handle and the force conveying shaft and which is operable in a handle disengage position to disengage the handle from the force conveying shaft so that the handle may be moved without moving the work holding jaws relative to one another. The handle disengagement apparatus also has a handle engage position wherein a movement of the handle from the first position to the second position moves the work holding jaws relative to one another.

  • Publication number: 20160158905
Abstract: A lathe or other rotating machine includes a tool rest on a carriage that is movable along the work piece. The carriage includes a post that is movable with the tool rest. The post supports a guard that is disposed between the user and the work piece. The guard may include a frame surrounding a transparent portion. The frame may support a plurality of light emitting elements directed onto the work piece. An extendable/retractable transparent portion may be extended from the guard between the user and the work piece. The extendable/retractable portion and/or the transparent portion may be a magnifier.

  • Publication number: 20160067841
Abstract: A drill press has variable speed drive via belts on stepped pulleys that transfer rotational force from the motor to the drill press spindle. Three stepped pulleys connected by two belts are provided in the example. A belt tension roller is bears against one of the belts to provide tension for effective power transfer from the motor to the spindle. The belt tension roller is adjustable along an arcuate slot in an anchor plate and is fastenable in position by an adjustment knob on the belt tension roller. The middle pulley is mounted to vary its position so that tension adjustments on one belt by the belt tension roller result in tension adjustments on the second belt as well.

  • Publication number: 20150266164
Abstract: A work holding device includes a first jaw piece having an elongated first connection member for connecting the work holding device to a support. The first connection member defines a first passage. A second jaw piece has an elongated second connection member positionable within the first passage. The second connection member defines a second passage in communication with the first passage. A spindle assembly movably couples the second jaw piece to the first jaw piece. The spindle assembly is configured to move the second jaw piece with respect to the first jaw piece to create a clamping pressure when an object is placed between the first jaw piece and the second jaw piece.

  • Publication number: 20140346725
Abstract: A work holding device, such as a vice, includes first and second jaws and a spindle connected between them to change the distance between the jaws for holding a work piece. An elongated connection member extends from the first jaw and is shaped to fit into a receiver member of a receiver hitch on a vehicle. Adjustable projections are provided on the elongated connection member for reducing movement of the vice in the hitch. The adjustable projections may be set screws. An end cap is provided on the end of the elongated connection member. The work holding device may be mounted in a receiver member or bracket on a workbench or other work area.
