Patent number: 7909499Abstract: A track light module for use with a low-voltage track carrying a pair of elongated conductors transversely spaced from each other and accessible through a longitudinal slot in the track. The module includes a first housing that contains a printed circuit board carrying an LED and forming an aperture permitting light from the LED to be radiated beyond the first housing. A second housing carries a pair of electrical conductors adapted to extend into the low-voltage track to make contact with the conductors within the track. The second housing also includes surfaces for fastening the second housing to the track when the second housing and the track are moved relative to each other. A pair of electrical contacts on the printed circuit board contact the conductors carried by the second housing and thereby receive electrical power for the LED. A connector attaches the first and second housings together.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2008Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: Juno Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Paul Snagel, Matthew Wnek

Patent number: 7798824Abstract: An adapter for an electrical line voltage track system includes a housing having a first end adapted for mounting to an electrical source or an electrical fixture, and a second end adapted for mounting to a line voltage track. The housing includes a housing cover coupled to a housing body. The housing cover is movable relative to the housing body between a closed position and an open position. A supporting sleeve is movably coupled to the housing, and a plurality of electrical contacts, including a fixed contact and a movable contact, are also coupled to the housing. The movable contact is movable, relative to the housing, between an engaged position and a disengaged position. In the engaged position, the movable contact causes electrical contact with the line voltage track. In the disengaged position, electrical contact is removed.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2008Date of Patent: September 21, 2010Assignee: Juno Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Franklin Phoyeng Fong

Publication number: 20090284988Abstract: A track light assembly includes a low-voltage track. A light module comprises an elongated thermally conductive housing fitted over the track. The housing may also surround the track. The housing preferably forms an elongated channel. An elongated printed circuit board (PCB) is mounted on the thermally conductive housing and carries a plurality of clusters of light emitting diodes (LED's) distributed over the PCB surface. An elongated lens is fitted over the PCB and LED clusters. A track adapter attached to an end portion of the track includes electrically conductive contacts for electrically coupling the conductors in the track housing with contacts on the printed circuit board. Thus, a cool running, elongated, linear light module is provided which is adjustably placeable along the length of the track.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2008Publication date: November 19, 2009Applicant: Juno Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Paul Snagel, Matthew Wnek

Publication number: 20080259614Abstract: A mounting platform for a lighting fixture comprising a substantially flat plate and an integral cutting guide. The integral cutting guide includes an aperture formed through the substantially flat plate and a flange formed around a perimeter of the aperture. The flange and the substantially flat plate preferably intersect in a curve and the flange forms an angle of less than (90) degrees with respect to the bottom surface. The mounting platform also includes elongated slots for securing the mounting platform to a ceiling support member. The elongated slots are preferably of a sufficient length to allow the mounting platform to be secured to the ceiling support member to allow placement of the integral cutting guide between the ceiling support member and a second ceiling support member wherein the span between the ceiling support member and the second ceiling support member is in the range of (16 to 24) inches.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2005Publication date: October 23, 2008Applicant: JUNO MANUFACTURING, INCInventors: Aaron Fryzek, Aaron O'Brien

Patent number: 7436675Abstract: A flexible cable is provided for a lighting system having a power supply that includes a power supply input to receive a first signal having a first frequency and a circuit for converting the first signal to a second signal, and at least one luminaire coupled to a lamp driver. The cable comprises a first leg of wires for carrying the second signal. The first wire electrically connects a loop output of the power supply to an input of the lamp driver and a second wire electrically connects an output of the lamp driver to a loop return of the power supply. The cable further comprises a second leg of wires electrically connected to a ground of the power supply and the ground of the lamp driver. The second signal has a substantially constant current and a second frequency distinctly higher than the first frequency. The flexible cable further comprises a modular connector.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2006Date of Patent: October 14, 2008Assignee: Juno Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Philip John Rimmer, Carole Frances Sherrington

Patent number: 7399207Abstract: A connector is provided for electrically connecting a coaxial cable having a conductive inner wire surrounded by a conductive outer jacket and an insulator therebetween to a two-wire circuit. The connector comprises a conductive bottom contact member having a first passageway dimensioned to fit only the inner wire and the insulator therethrough and to block the conductive outer jacket. A conductive top contact member has a second passageway for the inner wire and the insulator and a clamping member for securing the inner wire to the top contact member. An insulating member for electrically separates the bottom contact member from the top contact member. A pendant-style light fixture using the coaxial connector is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2006Date of Patent: July 15, 2008Assignee: Juno Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Aaron P.
