  • Patent number: 11595521
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for initiating and handling an emergency IP request using an IP enabled device having GPS capability. The IP enabled device is monitored for one or more emergency criteria. If the emergency criteria are satisfied, global positioning data is obtained using the GPS capability and the emergency IP request is sent to an address server. The address server receives the emergency IP request, obtains local emergency services data based on the global positioning data, dials a call center station based on the local emergency services data and passes an emergency call from the IP enabled device to the call center station. This invention can be implemented as a computer program embedded in a computer readable medium wherein the steps are performed by one or more code segments.

  • Patent number: 11540085
Abstract: A method of determining a position of a mobile telecommunication device (10) which transmits a signal (S) to base stations (1, 2, 3, . . . ) connected by a data link (8) comprises the steps of: correlating the received signal (S) and a reference signal (S?) so as to produce a correlation for each base station, detecting a maximum in each correlation, which maximum is indicative of a time of arrival of the signal (S) at the respective base station, and using the respective times of arrival and the distances (D1, D2, . . . ) derived therefrom to derive a location of the mobile telecommunication device. The method uses receivers (21, 22, . . . ) coupled to a data network (7), each receiver (21, 22, . . . ) deriving the reference signal (S?) from the received signal (S). Each base station may select, if it receives multiple reference signals, the reference signal (S?) having the highest quality.

  • Patent number: 11128567
Abstract: A method includes, at a node associated with a multiprotocol label switching system (MPLS) network, identifying information associated with an application flow based on one or more unencapsulated packet headers of the application flow or based on an ingress data stream that includes the application flow. The method further includes, in response to identifying the information, and based on stored data that maps application flows with psuedowires, determining a number of pseudowires corresponding to paths through the MPLS network, where the stored data indicates, for a sending device application, a distributed mapping of the application flow via at least one of the number of psuedowires, and communicating data related to the sending device application via at least one of the number of pseudowires.

  • Patent number: 10977237
Abstract: A verification device operates to evaluate consistency of input values from a client device used by a server to execute a task. In an example the task may be installation of software into the client device, and the consistency evaluation of the input values may involve evaluating whether identifiers used to obtain attribute values of components of the client device for the installation apply to the same client device. To initiate execution of the task, the client device commands a plurality of data source servers to supply the attribute values. The data source servers return response messages defining the attribute values associated with the identifiers supplied by the client device. The client device supplies the response messages to the server for use in the execution of the task.

  • Patent number: 10938708
Abstract: A path discovery process is provided for discovering a lowest cost combination of a plurality of paths from the source node to the destination node via links between pairs of nodes along the paths. A path discovery messages from a source node is forwarded through the network. Prior to forwarding the path discovery message a node tests one or more conditions for disabling the forwarding. Upon receiving an instance of the path discovery message, this may include testing whether no other instance of the path discovery message has both smaller cost and a previous path that contains only nodes that occur also in the path of the received instance. Furthermore, this may include testing whether a destination of the path discovery message was also a node to which a preceding node along the path has a further link, and a cost of the path from the preceding node to the next node via said further link is not larger than the cost of the path from the preceding node to the next node.
