  • Patent number: 4377044
Abstract: A manual electrically powered snow throwing device has features that allow it to be used either in a shovel mode or in a pushing and pulling mode. The device has an upper handgrip with forward and rearward handgrip portions. The forward handgrip portion is located on the same axis as that of the handle. The rearward handgrip portion extends downwardly from the forward handgrip portion. The triggers are mounted to both forward and rearward handgrip portions. These triggers are connected in parallel, so that each will independently control the motor. The forward handgrip portion is used for a shovelling motion, while the rearward handgrip portion is used for pushing and pulling motion.

  • Patent number: 4360983
Abstract: A hand operated snow thrower has an impeller with blade mounts that allow the blades to be easily removed, yet effectively retained with the blade mount. The impeller includes a rigid rotor that is rotatably driven by the snow thrower. The rotor has three blade mounts, each blade mount having a blade supporting surface. The blade supporting surface has an inner edge and an outer edge. A retainer extends over the inner edge of the supporting surface to define a channel. A slot extends from the supporting surface rearwardly into the rotor. The flexible blade that is mounted to the impeller has a flange that is received within the slot. The blade has an inner edge that is received within the channel.

  • Patent number: 4236309
Abstract: A flexible line trimmer for cutting vegetation having a rotary drive for swinging a nylon line. A housing with an actuator button on its bottom is connected to the rotary drive. A spool for the line is located in the housing. An actuator mechanism is connected between the button and the spool for feeding the line out in increments when the button is depressed. Also, the housing is connected to a drive shaft of the rotary drive by a cap. The housing and the cap have sidewalls that overlap each other. Lugs are molded to one of the sidewalls, and mating slots in the other sidewall provide a quickly releasable connection of the housing to the cap.

  • Patent number: 4151646
Abstract: A flexible line trimmer for cutting vegetation having a rotary drive for swinging a nylon line, and a device for feeding out additional line while rotating. A housing with an actuator button on its bottom is carried by the drive shaft. A spool having drive teeth formed on one side is carried in the housing. An actuator is mounted reciprocally in the housing and has a pin for engaging the drive teeth to cause the spool to rotate with the housing. An actuator shaft extends between the button and the actuator for disengaging the pin when the button is depressed. Guide teeth on the spool guide the pin back into engagement with the next drive tooth, incrementingly advancing the line.
