  • Patent number: 11439443
Abstract: A rod reducer includes a housing, an anvil, a locking anvil configured to engage a locking plug of a bone screw assembly, an arm assembly, a reducing screw extending through the housing and rotatably coupled with the anvil, and a locking screw extending through the housing and rotatably coupled with the locking anvil. The arm assembly includes an arm hingedly coupled to the housing, and first and second grasping members configured to engage the bone screw assembly. The first and second grasping members are hingedly coupled to the housing and extend through the anvil. Rotation of the reducing screw transitions the arm assembly between an open position, in which, distal portions of the arm and the first and second grasping members are radially expanded, and a closed position, in which, the distal portions of the arm and the first and second grasping members are radially contracted.

  • Patent number: 11439516
Abstract: An interbody fusion device including pivoting endplates is disclosed. The endplates define grooves between the endplates to house sliding pins. A threaded shaft extends through the implant to connect the endplates and the sliding pins. The implant is fit to be inserted into an intervertebral disc space to pivot according to the natural angles of the adjacent vertebrae. The shaft can be rotated to adjust the sliding pins into a position to provide support to the endplates at the angle they take between the vertebrae.

  • Patent number: 11419639
Abstract: A modular screw includes a first assembly and a second assembly. The first assembly includes a base portion having a head portion, a securing portion defining a first bore, and a receiving portion defining a second bore. The second assembly includes a first post, a second post including an engaging portion, and an elongate screw threadably engageable with the second post. The second post is dimensioned to be received through the second bore of the receiving portion of the first assembly such that when a first set screw is received in the first bore, the first set screw secures the base portion of the first assembly to the second post. The elongate screw received in the second post causes radial expansion of the engaging portion of the second post, which, in turn, causes the engaging portion to be affixed to the cavity of the first post.

  • Patent number: 11350973
Abstract: A rod reducer including a housing defining an opening, a body member defining an opening and a slot, a shaft disposed through the opening of the housing and coupled to the opening of the body member, an anvil including a linkage extending therefrom, the linkage coupled to the body member and the anvil, a plurality of arm members, and a biasing element disposed between the body member and the anvil. A pin of the linkage is slidably disposed within the slot, and the biasing element is configured to bias the anvil distally with respect to the body member. Rotation of the shaft translates into linear movement, relative to the housing, of the shaft, the body member, and the anvil. The arm members are coupled to the housing and movable towards a parallel configuration as the anvil is advanced away from the housing to engage a bone screw.

  • Patent number: 11337829
Abstract: A driving instrument for adjusting a spinal implant includes an outer shaft having a distal end configured to actuate a proximal adjustment assembly of a spinal implant, and an inner shaft having a distal end configured to actuate a distal adjustment assembly of the spinal implant. The inner shaft is disposed within the outer shaft, with a proximal end of the inner shaft extending proximally from the outer shaft. The proximal end is configured to be rotated such that rotation of the inner shaft results in simultaneous rotation of the inner and outer shafts, with rotation of the outer shaft ceasing at a first value of resistance associated with the proximal adjustment assembly and rotation of the inner shaft ceasing at a second value of resistance associated with the distal adjustment assembly such that cessation of rotation of the inner shaft is independent from cessation of rotation of the outer shaft.

  • Publication number: 20220151699
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for rapid generation of simulations of a patient's spinal morphology that enable pre-operative viewing of a patient's condition and to assist surgeons in determining the best corrective procedure and with any of the selection, augmentation or manufacture of spinal devices based on the patient specific simulated condition. The simulation is generated by morphing a generic spine model with a three-dimensional curve representation of the patient's particular spinal morphology derived from existing images of the patient's condition.
