  • Patent number: 5137344
Abstract: A semi-finished lens of plastic material which will be ground on the basis of a spectacles prescription to be completed as a myopia correcting single-focus lens is molded such that the convex surface is a spherical nonprocessed surface and the concave surface is a nonspherical molded surface which requires no grinding. Thus, a completed lens can be easily obtained by simply grinding the spherical convex surface. Further, the concave surface which is a nonspherical molded surface is formed as an ellipsoidal surface of revolution, hyperboloidal surface of revolution or other nonspherical surface which has a curvature providing spherical power or a combination of spherical power and astimgatic power and whose curvature decreases from the optical center toward the periphery, whereby the difficulty of grinding can be decreased and the completed lens is free from the warping of images due to spherical aberration and has an edge which is thin and makes a better appearance.

  • Patent number: 5063380
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which enables efficient search of a particular file out of a multiplicity of files arranged on shelves, such that a display light, such as light-emitting diode, lights to externally indicate the location of the file only when a signal receiver attached to the file receives a predetermined signal from a signal transmitter connected to a computer. More particularly, a discrete object searching apparatus is provided for searching and locating discrete files wherein the signal transmitter and the signal receiver are, respectively, an infrared signal transmitter and an infrared signal receiver. An optical receptor portion of the receiver is provided with a means for cutting off visible light to eliminate wasteful use of the battery of the receiver. The receiver has no amplifier portion, the receptor portion being thus directly connected to a data processing portion in the receiver. The apparatus can perform not only search of a discrete file, but also search of a group of files.

  • Patent number: 4665945
Abstract: A pressure regulator for a fuel gas of the present invention operates to reduce the pressure of the fuel gas kept in a gas container to the predetermined pressure and then supply it to a burner through the secondary passage thereof. Further, the pressure regulator includes a shutoff valve disposed in the primary passage thereof and an actuator of which operation chamber connects to the secondary passage. In the shutoff valve, there is provided a valve body displaceable between the valve open position and the valve shutoff position and sustained in the valve open position by the attractive force of a magnet against the valve closing force by a valve closing means in the normal condition. In case the pressure in the secondary passage is increased abnormally, the actuator is driven by the increased secondary pressure so as to move the magnet away from the valve body and hence to close the primary passage by the valve body.
