  • Patent number: 5426809
Abstract: A wiping instrument can clean places which previously have been difficult to clean is arranged such that a ground contact pressure of a wiping cloth per unit area is allowed to increase, and further a wiping cloth on the instrument can scrub the surface to be cleaned so as to follow irregularities existing on the surface to be cleaned. Accordingly, the wiping instrument provides a wiping cloth which is attached to the bottom of a base plate portion provided with a handle. The wiping operation is performed by moving the wiping cloth over a surface to be cleaned. The base plate portion is made of a rigid material and a plurality of elastic projections are erected on substantially all of the surface of the bottom of the base plate portion. The wiping cloth is attached to the bottom of the base plate portion so as to cover a plurality of the elastic projections.

  • Patent number: 5347676
Abstract: In order that liquid swept up by blades is introduced positively into a baseplate section to elevate a recovery percentage of liquid, the baseplate section is adapted to include an open section positioned on the upper end portion of the blades along them and which is opened forwardly in the operating direction of the squeegee, and a trough-like section for introducing liquid having a profile which is defined in such that its axial direction extends along the upper end portion of the blades and its wall surface protrudes backwardly in the operating direction, whereby liquid swept up by these blades is transferred from the lower end portion of the blades to the upper end portion thereof to be introduced into the section for introducing liquid.

  • Patent number: 5325565
Abstract: In order to elevate workability in collecting refuse and the like, an elastic blade is attached to an extreme end of an opening of a main body of a collecting device in order to provide an intimate contact with the surface of a floor. A rotating shaft extending laterally along the under side of the blade is provided therein at the rear of the same, and this rotating shaft is pivotally supported between two opposing sidewalls of the collecting device main body, whereby the front edge of the blade is rotatably urged towards and away from the surface of the floor due to the elastic force derived from the bottom of the blade through the rotating shaft. The blade is gradually elevated towards the rear end to form an inclined portion, whereby a prescribed amount of refuse and the like collected within the opening can be held on the inclined portion. On the opposite side surfaces of the blade, each sidewall is provided with the blade so as not to drop refuse and the like once swept up.

  • Patent number: 5232298
Abstract: The present invention relates to an applicator for applying a liquid such as floor wax. When an operator adjusts a handle-mounted valve, drops of wax fall down from tube-shaped nozzles arranged in an equidistant relationship on the base of the applicator. The wax is supplied from a bag-shaped container mounted on an intermediate portion of the handle and flows down to the nozzles via filters, an adjusting valve, a distributing chamber and discharge passages. When the applicator is not in use, it is placed on a tray which keeps the base moist with a cloth tightly stretched on the base of the applicator. Steam fills the space between the cloth and the base to prevent solidification of the wax.

  • Patent number: 4845797
Abstract: A floor cleaner has driven rollers integrally mounted with a pair of rotating cleaning bodies on respective opposite end portions thereof, each of the rotating cleaning body being provided with a plurality of blades made of an elastic material, and wheels including a pair each of main wheels disposed at forward and rear portions of the casing and auxiliary wheels each of which is located at an intermediate position defined between the respective rotating bodies and main wheels. Each of the auxiliary wheels is positioned somewhat lower than the respective main wheels, i.e. they are collectively arranged in a seesaw-like condition. The main wheels and the auxiliary wheels are journaled to the casing in such a manner that both are swingable toward the front and the rear of the casing. Idle rollers are journaled to the casing between the respective main wheels and the respective driven rollers in a swingable manner.

  • Patent number: 4813096
Abstract: A rotational cleaning member is mounted transversely at the central portion of a casing, the bottom of which is opened, in a rotatable manner, and driving wheels are positioned on both the right and left sides of the casing to support the same on a floor and to impart a rotating force to the rotational cleaning member. Dust collecting boxes are disposed to the front and rear of the rotational cleaning member, and each of these dust collecting boxes is always urged by spring members in a closing direction thereof. Furthermore, a locking mechanism for imparting a prescribed damping resistance to the dust collecting boxes during opening and closing operations thereof and for maintaining an opened state thereof when the opening operation is completed is provided.
