Patent number: 4550879Abstract: The invention provides an improved vertical type pulverizing and classifying apparatus comprising a lower, pulverizing chamber and an upper, classifying chamber, wherein a material under treatment is carried by gas streams. The disclosed apparatus includes a conduit between the pulverizing chamber and the classifying chamber for sending particles of the material emerging from a primary classification to the classifying chamber for a secondary classification. A floating chamber is provided circumferentially of the conduit to receive particles descending from the classifying chamber for a further classification, whereby resulting fine particles are blown back to the classifying chamber and coarse particles are returned to the pulverizing chamber by way of a material feeder.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1984Date of Patent: November 5, 1985Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventors: Akio Tanaka, Yasuo Kamo

Patent number: 4529135Abstract: There is disclosed a grinding crusher having a grinder piece disposed within a crushing chamber for relative rotation with respect to a casing defining the crushing chamber. The casing is journaled and driven in high speed rotation so as to cause a material within the casing to be centrifugally pressed against the inner peripheral surfaces thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1983Date of Patent: July 16, 1985Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventor: Kiyoshi Urayama

Patent number: 4490601Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing metallic fine particles by use of at least one arc-discharging section located in a hollow interior cavity of a rotary body. Metallic material is dropped into the rotary body during rotation thereof. The metallic material is melted and driven centrifugally through an outlet where it impinges upon a stationary cooled wall of a surrounding casing. When the melted material strikes the cooled wall, the melted material forms small particles. These small particles are then withdrawn through an outlet in the casing.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1983Date of Patent: December 25, 1984Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventor: Tohei Yokoyama

Patent number: 4292172Abstract: An apparatus for classifying particles into fine particles and coarse particles by a classification standard particle size which is determined by selecting a rotational frequency of a classifying rotor. The rotational frequency is derived from an equation stored in a computer and the rotor is automatically maintained at the rotational frequency thus derived.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1980Date of Patent: September 29, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventors: Masuo Hosokawa, Tohei Yokoyama, Noriyoshi Kaya

Patent number: 4290790Abstract: Filtering apparatus 1 comprises a generally cylindrical lattice frame 6, for supporting a filter bag 3, and an annular support member 13 from which extend rods 12 connected together by channel-shaped straps 14, 24 or 34. The technical problem is to provide a frame for a filter which is compact for transport to the erecting site yet quick and straight-forward to erect. Cut-outs 18 are formed in the side walls 14b of the straps 14, 24 or 34 and the support member 13 is fashioned from a flat strip of material. For transport the rods 12 are located in the cut-outs 18 and spot-welded to the straps 14, 24 or 34 and to support member 13 while the straps 14, 24 or 34 and the support member 13 are laid out flat; several such flat assemblages may then be stacked on one another. At the erecting site the support member 13 and straps 14, 24 or 34 are bent round into shape, the straps 14, 24 or 34 being bent in the region of each cut-out 18 so as to deform each cut-out 18 to retain the corresponding rod 12 therein.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 1980Date of Patent: September 22, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventor: Kunio Okubo

Patent number: 4279165Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the cohesion force of a particulate material. The apparatus comprises a bottomed container composed of a fixed container segment and a movable container segment for containing the particulate material, a driving device for moving the movable container segment perpendicularly to the plane of separation of the container to divide the particulate material in the container into two, and a unit for detecting the external force to be applied to the movable container segment by the driving device. At least the movable container segment is suspended from and retained by swingable or deflectable support members.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1979Date of Patent: July 21, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventors: Tohei Yokoyama, Shintaro Asakura, Kiyoshi Urayama, Kenji Fujii

Patent number: 4260478Abstract: An apparatus for classifying particles comprising a main body having a fine particle outlet and a coarse particle outlet, a classifying fan wheel disposed within the main body, and a first gas inlet channel for supplying the particles to the interior of the main body along with a gas stream. The apparatus further includes a gas passing member having a large number of gas inlets opened toward the direction of rotation of the fan wheel, and a second gas inlet channel for supplying a gas stream to the space between the gas passing member and the inner wall surface of the main body.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1979Date of Patent: April 7, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventors: Masuo Hosokawa, Tohei Yokoyama, Katsuya Mizui, Haruhisa Yamashita, Kouichi Doi

Patent number: 4122715Abstract: An apparatus for measuring flow rate of powders or granules forced out off the periphery of a loading table to fall down gravitationally. Deflector members arranged within the gravitational fall path of the powders or granules are subjected to a rotary force by impingement thereon of the powders or granules. Flow rate is measured as proportional to the moment for rotation.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1977Date of Patent: October 31, 1978Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Funtai Kogaku KenkyushoInventors: Tohei Yokoyama, Kiyoshi Urayama
