  • Patent number: 5768028
Abstract: Single convex lens element has a positive power in both the main and sub-scanning directions on the surface which is the closer to the surface to be scanned and which is anamorphic such that any section taken through a plane that is parallel to the central optical axis and which is normal to the main scanning direction provides a generally constant surface geometry along the length of that surface. This lens ensures not only the production of a good image plane and satisfactory f.theta. characteristics in the main scanning direction but also the effective correction of the curvature of the field in the sub-scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 5744881
Abstract: A drive magnet unit is fixedly mounted on the inner cylindrical surface of the cylindrical portion of a rotor yoke which is fixedly mounted on a hub, in such a manner that the drive magnet unit confronts a stator core. The rotor yoke has an annular portion along its open end. The rotor yoke has a curved portion along the open end which forms a gap with the outer cylindrical surface of the drive magnet unit. The annular portion is sheared along its base, thus forming a shear plane. The inner surface of the bottom of the rotor yoke, and the inner cylindrical surface of the cylindrical portion of the rotor yoke form a right-angled portion with which the right-angled outer edge portion of the drive magnet unit is engaged. The peripheral surface of the right-angled portion defines a through-hole in the bottom which is engaged with the hub. • Patent number: 5687152
Abstract: A tracking error signal and a focus error signal can be obtained with those components of the light (plus and minus first-order light) which have been diffracted by a hologram device whereas the undiffracted zero-order light component is for the sole purpose of producing RF signals. As a result, RF signals can be detected without using a segmented photodetector while insuring that output signals of a constant intensity are produced even if there are changes in the spot diameter and position. In addition, any aberrations that are caused by an half-mirror are corrected by optics that is provided in the optical path connecting the half-mirror and the light-receiving elements of a photodetector and this insures that even if an objective lens moves, detection spots on the individual light-receiving elements will move on the latter without causing any offset errors.

  • Patent number: 5686770
Abstract: The magnetic pole 16b for positional detection is attached to the magnetic pole 16a for driving of the rotor magnet 16 at a position shifted from the magnetic center C of the magnetic pole for driving by an electrical angle of about 30.degree.. Due to the foregoing, the magnetic detector for driving is used as a magnetic detector for positional detection, so that the position detecting signal "c" can be obtained in a good condition. Therefore, it is unnecessary to provide a magnetic detector and a magnet piece which are conventionally used, so that the cost can be reduced, and it is also unnecessary to attach the magnet piece and the magnetic detector onto the base board. Accordingly, the manufacturing cost can be reduced, and further it is not required to maintain a space for installing the magnetic detector and the wiring thereof. In this way, it is possible to reduce the dimensions of the motor.
