Patent number: 11956318Abstract: A system and method for managing a user equipment (UE) device coupled to a network serviced by a service provider in which standard Internet Protocol (IP) traffic, that is not LTE traffic, is received from a network serviced by a service provider that was generated by the UE device having an IP address that causes the standard IP traffic to be routed to an evolved packet core (EPC) proxy unit. The EPC proxy unit identifies the IMSI for the UE device, requests a standard session from an EPC system based on the IMSI, and initiates a tunnel connection to a serving gateway for advanced processing by the EPC system. After advance processing has been performed, usage management and policy enforcement may be performed on the standard IP traffic prior to allowing the UE device to access a public data network.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: KAJEET, INC.Inventor: David H. Patent number: 11689901Abstract: A system and method for the real-time management of a device, and more particularly to the establishment and enforcement of policies or rules associated with the feature or functions that may be performed with the device, such as making and receiving calls, exchanging data, playing games and music, sending and receiving email, accessing web sites, and paying for goods and services. If a child or employee is using the device, there may be a need to regulate how that device can be used and to determine who will pay for what goods or services. In addition to providing all of the features associated with a device, service providers need to be able to establish and enforce rules (policies) regulating how and when that device can be used and who will pay for a good or service requested by the user of the device.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2020Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: KAJEET, INC.Inventors: Matthew Donald Baker, Steven Ira Geller, Douglas Owen Kesser, Daniel John Neal, Carol Ann Politi, Ben Julian Weintraub

Patent number: 11368502Abstract: Systems and methods are described for managing services of a computing device over a mobile network where requests for managed or unmanaged services are translated to corresponding IP addresses sent to the computing device and corresponding requests sent to the translated IP addresses are either permitted, rated, quality controlled or secured if the computing device has a valid data plan or is otherwise permissioned for using the mobile network, are denied if filtered and if the computing device does not have a valid data plan or is not otherwise permissioned and the request corresponds to the first address, and are permitted, rated, quality controlled or not secured even if the computing device does not have a valid data plan or is not otherwise permissioned if the request corresponds to the second address.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2020Date of Patent: June 21, 2022Assignee: KAJEET, INC.Inventors: David Pinto, John Shorey, Daniel John Neal

Patent number: 11070681Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are described for sponsoring functions of computing devices associated with users. A sponsor may define a sponsorship that includes rules for sponsoring certain functions available to a user via a computing device. The execution of the functions may be facilitated, in some instances, by a service provider that may also specify rules and policies that control the functions. As such, when the user executes one or more of the sponsored functions by way of the computing device, instead of charging the associated cost to the user, the service provider may charge the cost to the sponsor based on the associated rules and policies.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2020Date of Patent: July 20, 2021Assignee: KAJEET, INC.Inventor: Daniel John Neal

Patent number: 9137389Abstract: A master account system for managing one or more electronic devices through the establishment and enforcement of policies associated with the devices. Enforcement policies may be determined by characteristics of space, time and/or other criteria relating to a user(s) and/or administrator(s), or in relation to one another, or some other general circumstance. The master account may be established on a pre-paid or postpaid basis with limits applied in real-time or near-real-time. The policies may apply across any number of devices associated with the master account. The addition and decrement of units of measure associated with the master account and device account(s) may be limited to the master account, to the master account and one or more device accounts at the same time, or allocated in numerous other ways. Content and other activity filtering may also be established and managed at the master account and/or device account level.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2013Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: KAJEET, INC.Inventors: Daniel J. Patent number: 9125057Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for reducing fraud, waste, and abuse of devices associated with government or business programs. Devices are authenticated based on a first set of data collected from the device, and if authenticated, may be permitted to send or receive service requests based on a second set of data that identifies the user, includes data about the user, identifies the service and/or identifies eligibility criteria. Devices may also be subject to eligibility requirements instituted before, during or after a service request is performed that determine the eligibility of the device and/or the user of the device. Devices may also be subject to filtering requirements administered before or during a service request. Devices may also be subject verification before, during or after one or more service requests.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2014Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: KAJEET, INC.Inventors: Daniel John Neal, Ben Julian Weintraub
