  • Patent number: 4486174
Abstract: An arrangement for the dispensing of cleaning and/or lubricating media, which can be placed under pressure in a receptacle, as maintenance media to movable elements containing medical, and particularly dental handpieces. The maintenance medium is forced by means of a pressure drive out of a dispensing orifice of the receptacle through an inlet opening of the handpiece which is attached to the receptacle at the dispensing orifice and whereby, during the forcing of the maintenance medium into the movable elements of the handpiece, they are placeable into motion through a motion drive. The maintenance medium can be formed by liquid cleaning and/or lubricating media, for instance, such as oil.

  • Patent number: 4383167
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is provided for controlling the drive of dental treatment instruments by means of driving devices associated therewith and the operating data of which are adapted to be fed to a separate forward/backward counter when the particular treatment instrument is selected for use. A starter switch is connected to the forward/backward counter and is operable, when actuated, to vary the particular stored count of the counter step-wise for the purpose of varying the operating data and for transmission to a control element, for the control thereof, which is associated with the particular treatment instrument. Upon actuation of the starter switch in order to vary the stored count of the forward/backward counter, the counting speed of the counter is increased with increasing actuation time of the starter switch by reason of the fact that the counter receives a number of counter pulses which increase per unit time.

  • Patent number: 4217101
Abstract: A dental handpiece having a holding sleeve, an air-driven unit mounted at one end of the sleeve to drive a dental tool, and a connecting member releasably and relatively rotatably connected to the other end of the sleeve. A supply hose for conveying fluid pressure media is coupled releasably and non-rotatably to the end of the connecting member remote from the sleeve, and communicating fluid pressure lines in the connecting member and in the sleeve convey fluid pressure media between the hose and consumers of fluid pressure media at the free end of the sleeve, such as the tool-drive unit. The releasable connection between the connecting member and the sleeve is provided by a pin on the connecting member which is received by a passage in the sleeve. The fluid pressure lines in the connecting member extend also generally lengthwise along the pin, but terminate in radial portions having outlet apertures which are axially spaced along the outer periphery of the pin.
