The spinning ring enables enhancing the ring flange portion in accuracy and wear resistance, and preventing fine vibrations of the ring flange portion from causing abnormal wear of and shortening of service life of a ring traveller and the ring flange portion and frequent yarn breakage leading to reduction in productivity and falling-off of the ring flange portion due to shock.

    Abstract: A spinning ring for a ring spinning machine is produced by clamping and pressing a ring-like steel blank by a mandrel and a forming roll, pressing and deforming the blank by cold rolling, causing the blank to fluidize in, and fill, the gap between both machining surfaces of the forming roll and the mandrel, and rolling the blank in the direction of thickness and so expanding its diameter into a predetermined size. To prevent crack, a ring-like blank whose portion having a large machining quantity is in advance machined to a smaller thickness by machining means such as forging, cutting and rolling is preferably used. Since this production method does not essentially remove the material, the yield of the material is high, and because the number of production steps is less, the production cost can be reduced.

The sheet has an excellent property of holding electrolyte by using conjugate fibers having a specific sectional form. The sheet comprises an ethylene copolymer having a specific structure which can introduce a desirable amount of sulfo groups efficiently under mild reaction condtions. Conjugate fibers having a split sectional form include a first component and a second component having a radial arrangement. The conjugate fibers are obtained by forming an ethylene based random copolymer containing a unit represented by a formula --CH.sub.2 CH(COOH)--, with polypropylene. Subsequently, a non-woven fabric sheet of a thermally bonding type is obtained by mixing the conjugate fibers with polypropoylene fibers. Subsequently, a non-woven fabric sheet for a storage battery separator is obtained by sulfonating the non-woven fabric sheet using gas such as SO.sub.3 to form a unit of the formula --CH.sub.2 C(SO.sub.3 H)(COOH)--.

    Abstract: In order to reliably clean a thermal fixing roll for fixing a non-fixed image in an image forming apparatus such as a copier or a laser beam printer, a non-woven fabric web having a crisscross structure or a parallel structure with a thermally bonded fiber sheet is disposed at least on the side in contact with the fixing roll. The thermally bonded fiber sheet comprises composite fibers including 5 to 70% by weight of electroless nickel plated `CONEX` fibers, which is obtained by depositing metallic nickel to a thickness of up to and including 0.2 .mu.m by an electroless plating method on `CONEX` fibers which have the surface formed with stripe-like grooves, macrovoids, fine irregularities or a modified cross-section and is heat-resistant and excellent in adhesion for nickel, in addition to non-plated `CONEX` fibers and undrawn polyester fibers. Preferably, the above non-fabric web is impregnated with a heat-resistant cationic charging agent as a cleaning roll material.

    Abstract: Conjugate fibers using, as a surface component, ethylene copolymer containing a unit represented by a formula --CH.sub.2 --CH(COOH)--, and using, as a core component, polypropylene or like polyolefin fibers, are used to obtain thermally bonded non-woven fabric sheet to the treated with concentrated sulfuric acid or the like. By so doing, it is possible to readily introduce sulfo groups to replace tertiary carbon and thus impart the fibers with hydrophilicity. By using thus sulfonated thermal bonded non-woven fabric sheet as alkaline storage battery separators, it is possible to maintain high discharge capacity retention.

    Abstract: A combing roller for an open-end spinning machine which utilizes whirling airflow. The needle plate laminated member is made by connecting together in a row a plurality of needle plates, with a spacer between adjoining ones in some cases, by a connecting member. The needle plate has at its upper part a needle base portion with at least one needle head and at its lower part a needle insertion portion with a dovetail shape to be fitted in a dovetail groove with the roller, having at the substantially central part of its bottom a part in which the connecting member is inserted and fastened.
