Abstract: A time-constant circuit is employed for gradually decreasing the voltage of an input signal carrying information to be indicated by a deflecting coil type meter so that the voltage of an input signal applied to the following driving stage does not abruptly drop to zero although the power switch of the driving circuit is turned off. A timer circuit responsive to the power switch energizes a relay or a switching circuit to supply the driving stage with electrical power not only for the time that the power switch is on but also for an additional interval after the power switch is turned off so that the driving stage is capable of being responsive to the gradually decreasing voltage causing the pointer of the meter to return to the zero point.
Abstract: A display device is so constructed that a single illuminating lamp can illuminate not only a caution letter on a labelled display plate but also the corresponding portion of a sketch of vehicle illustrated on a figured display plate.

Abstract: A stepping motor includes a rotor formed of ferromagnetic material having a plurality of circumferentially alternately arranged poles of opposite polarities and a stator having main poles which are polarized in opposite polarities by successive drive pulses of opposite senses. An auxiliary stator pole is provided between adjacent main stator poles to give rise to a thrust that causes the rotor to rotate a small angle in the direction of rotation during the interval between successive drive pulses so that upon polarization of the stator by a subsequent drive pulse the rotor is easily caused to rotate in the same direction of rotation.
Abstract: An eddy-current meter comprises a permanent magnet fixed for rotation with a shaft whose rotation speed is to be measured. A metal cup is disposed close to the permanent magnet and attached to a spindle carrying a pointer. The spindle is rotatable against the bias of a spiral spring. The spindle is rotatably mounted on a support bearing of the shaft. A helical compression spring is mounted insuring that the support bearing of the shaft and the journal of the spindle are axially and yieldably biased toward each other with a force the magnitude of which is adjustable. The spindle is maintained in coaxial relationship with the shaft by two axially spaced radial bearings.
