Patent number: 6221096Abstract: An intravascular stent 11 has an elastic self-expandable cylindrical stent proper 12. The stent proper 12 is connected to metal support wires 18 that are long enough to reach outside of the body of a patient through a catheter 31. Manipulation of the support wires 18 pushes the stent proper 12 into a blood vessel from within the catheter, thereby allowing it to expand there, and then contracts and retracts the stent proper 12 into the catheter 31, repeatedly.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Kanto Special Steel Works, Ltd.Inventors: Mitsuru Aiba, Shin Ishimaru

Patent number: 5844805Abstract: An automatic programming apparatus is provided to generate a NC program for processing a roll having a cylindrical part and axle parts. The apparatus includes a roll-profile setting module, a process-condition setting module, a process-order setting module and an automatic programming module. The roll-profile setting module establishes dimensional values of the roll between an operator and the apparatus at every locational code, while the process-condition setting module establishes a plurality of process conditions at every process code, interactively. The process-order setting module combines the locational codes with the process codes at every process order, optionally and interactively, so that the process order of the cylindrical part and the axle parts is set while allocating any one of the process conditions.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1996Date of Patent: December 1, 1998Assignees: Toshiba Kikai Kabushiki Kaisha, Kanto Special Steel Works, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Uchimura, Takazumi Watanabe, Nobuyuki Endo, Masayuki Tatara, Haruki Kabe, Keiji Shimizu, Kazuo Kimura, Motone Sugiyama

Patent number: 5771599Abstract: A method of measuring a roll diameter of a roll is provided. At first, a step-shaped conical master roll consisting of a plurality of diametrical parts is prepared and then, the diameters of the diametrical parts under predetermined standard temperature are measured. After mounting the master roll on a roll grinder under a temperature condition similar to that surrounding the roll mounted on the roll grinder, a diameter of one diametrical part, of which standard diameter is closest to the roll diameter of the roll, is measured. Next, a difference between the diameter value of the diametrical part and the standard diameter value is calculated as a correction value, so that the roll diameter value of the roll is corrected by the correction value.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1996Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignees: Toshiba Kikai Kabushiki Kaisha, Kanto Special Steel Works, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Uchimura, Takazumi Watanabe, Masayuki Tatara, Yoshinori Hata, Kazuo Kimura

Patent number: 5733667Abstract: A plated nickel-titanium alloy product having a plated layer of nickel or a nickel alloy containing 5 to 15% by weight of cobalt. This product exhibits excellent surface treatability and workability, as well as shape memory effect and super-elasticity. Thus the product is most suitable for eyeglass frame components or similar ornamental articles. The product is produced by plating a layer of nickel or a nickel-cobalt alloy on the nickel-titanium alloy, dehydrogenating, cold working with not less than 10% working ratio, and subjecting to a final heat treatment between 300.degree. C. and 900.degree. C. If the final heat treatment is conducted between 750.degree. C. and 900.degree. C. for 10 to 120 seconds, a product with 4% or more super-elasticity at room temperature can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1995Date of Patent: March 31, 1998Assignees: Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., Kanto Special Steel Works, Ltd., Sanyo Special Alloys, Ltd.Inventors: Kazuyuki Nakasuji, Mitsuru Aiba, Masaki Takashima

Patent number: 4019346Abstract: A flexible coupling, for transmitting a great amount of torque from a drive shaft to a driven shaft by directing tensile force to act on connecting members, includes a pair of hub members mounted respectively on the drive shaft and the driven shaft, each hub member having two flanges with a space therebetween in the axial direction of the hub member. Each flange has projections projecting in the radial direction of the flange, each projection peripherally adjoining void spaces. The hub members as a pair are so constructed as to enable the projections of the flanges of one hub member to fit into the void spaces of the flanges of the other hub member, leaving a clearance between any facing portions of the flanges of the facing hub members with no contact therebetween. Retaining members are provided, each such member extending parallel to the axis of the hub member and having both ends thereof supported by the projections of the two facing flanges of each of the facing hub members.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1975Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: Kanto Special Steel Works Ltd.Inventor: Kazuichi Fukuda
