Abstract: A spirit level comprising a body having a level face for setting a surface, at least one bubble vial mounted in the body, the bubble vial having a longitudinal axis generally perpendicular to the level face, and an optical transfer element fixed to the body which transfers an image of the bubble vial to a viewing plane generally parallel to the level face.

Abstract: A combination square including a body including two opposing members, each having a plurality of straightedged surfaces, and a clamping element adapted to clamp the opposing members together, the opposing members defining a recess therebetween for receiving therein a rule member.

Abstract: A measuring and leveling device constructed with bubble vials for leveling which are movable to the precise point of application, with the measuring scale situated on a surface so constructed as to allow the scale to be located directly against and parallel to the surface to be measured. The device serves for both measuring and leveling tasks in one tool, and is constructed including a body portion provided with a ruler for measuring distances between points, in which the measuring scale is marked on a surface which tapers to a flat edge as in a conventional ruler. The body portion has two parallel tracks along its longitudinal axis, and two clamps situated on the body of the leveling device, each of which is held in place by tabs situated on the underside of the clamps and insertable into the parallel tracks, each clamp including a bubble vial mounting portion into which a bubble vial is fixedly mounted.

Abstract: A spirit level including a body having a level face for setting a surface, and a plurality of bubble vials each mounted in a bubble vial housing, the bubble vial housings being mounted in the body, each the bubble vial having a longitudinal axis, called a vial axis, and each the bubble vial housing having a longitudinal axis, called a housing axis, wherein an angular orientation of the vial axis of one the bubble vials with respect to the level face is different than an angular orientation of the vial axis of another the bubble vial with respect to the level face, the difference in angular orientation being in the range of 0°-30°. Other possible ranges include 0°-20°, 0°-10°, 0°-5°, 0°-3°, 0°-2°, or 0°-1°, for example.
Abstract: A post level including a pair of arms pivotally attached to each other at a hinge, each arm defining at least one level face for plumbing a surface, and at least one bubble vial mounted on at least one of the arms on a surface generally opposite to the at least one level face, wherein the arms may be swung about the hinge so as to be positioned generally parallel with each other with the at least one bubble vial being between the arms.
