Patents Assigned to Karl Schaeff GmbH & Co., Maschinenfabrik
  • Patent number: 6293579
Abstract: A mobile rig on wheels with transverse motion, in particular a telescoping stacker, having a first axle mounted on a rigid vehicle frame and a second axle disposed transversely movably on the vehicle frame to describe a circular translation. Advantageously, the second axle is disposed on the vehicle frame by parallel links and the parallel links can be swivelled through vertical axes by swivel actuation device.

  • Patent number: 6170180
Abstract: An excavator comprises a substructure and a superstructure pivoted on the substructure with an engine compartment and a valve box of the excavator being formed in the superstructure; and at least one fluid tank disposed between the engine compartment and the valve box essentially extending over the width of the superstructure. An excavator includes a first and a second fluid tank abutting each other with one positive and complementary side wall each to provide a particularly simple installation of the tanks in a wedge-like manner while utilizing the room in an optimum manner, for example, in the frame of the superstructure.

  • Patent number: 5308220
Abstract: The invention concerns a scoop-and-dump jack of a loader shovel or a fork of a shovel loader and comprising a piston-rod extension 46a guided in a sealed borehole of the jack cylinder-bottom 43 to achieve a dumping motion at least as rapid as the retracting motion and to permit simple assembly and maintenance of the jack, the diameter of said extension corresponding at least to that of the piston rod 46, the jack bearing-eye 50 and the jack cylinder-bottom being integrally joined by a connection member 49 extending over most of the length of advance of the piston-rod extension 46a, and the receiving space 51 for the piston-rod extension comprising a laterally open access for purposes of assembly or exchange of the guide means and seals 44, 45 in the jack cylinder-bottom.

  • Patent number: 5178238
Abstract: A braking power converter for trucks, busses, trailers, semitrailers and cars as a long-term brake, with oil as the working fluid and an oil cooler, wherein one or more high-pressure reciprocating pumps, which can control the transporting capacity up to zero transport, are driven continuously by the vehicle proportionately to the travelling speed, and an oil flow is compressed to a high pressure of roughly 300 to 900 bar during the braking operation, subsequently relieved of pressure and thereby heated up, after which the heated oil flow is recooled in the oil cooler.

  • Patent number: 4602821
Abstract: A guide member is mounted to the housing frame to be integrated into the boom or shovel arm of a hydraulic excavator to control an additional implement in the form of a clearing blade or clearing shovel which is displaceable on the guide member between a rest position laterally abutting the housing frame and an operational position pointing approximately in the same direction as the actual hammer and which can be locked in place at least in each of the end positions.

  • Patent number: 4571147
Abstract: A shovel excavator with an upper carriage pivoting unrestrictedly on an undercarriage and with an attachment holder (6) for a boom (8) pivoting laterally at the front. The pivot shaft (5) is located a distance corresponding to at least half the conventional shovel width from the front edge (22) of the operator cab, so that when the boom is pivoted transversely and the shovel post (10) is folded up, together with the excavating shovel (11), this assembly remains within the contour of the upper carriage. Unhampered view forward and on the ground through the folded-up boom assembly is provided to the operator cab. The second pivot shaft (5) is located in the area between the travel track and the longitudinal center line L of the vehicle in one main excavating position of the upper carriage. Neither in the travel position nor in the main excavating position do the side walls of the upper carriage project laterally beyond the undercarriage.
