Abstract: An intubation instrument for intubating a patient's trachea including an imager module having a base unit with a finger loop and a longitudinal member attached to the distal end of the base unit, as well as a blade having a handle that is hollow and mates with the outer surface of the longitudinal member forming a male-female connection, the distal end of the blade projecting laterally therefrom, the distal end of the blade being insertable into a human during intubation.
Abstract: A suturing and ligating method includes a needle piercing step of inserting a needle of a suture-needle assembly through a tissue in a body cavity, a needle gripping step of gripping the needle with a first gripper, a winding step of winding a suture strand of the suture-needle assembly in at least one turn around a first distal-end working unit by rolling the first distal-end working unit in at least one revolution, a transferring step of transferring the suture-needle assembly from the first gripper to a second gripper, a suture strand gripping step of gripping a portion of the suture strand that has not passed through the tissue, with the first gripper, a pulling step of pulling the first distal-end working unit out of a loop of the suture strand, and a tightening step of forming a knot of the suture strand.
Abstract: A medical instrument for dissecting human and/or animal tissue comprises a shaft, a first tool and a second tool at a distal end of the shaft, the first tool and the second tool cooperating in the manner of a punch by means of an axial relative movement with respect to one another, and at least one of the tools comprising a cutting element which is arranged in such a way that it forms, with the other tool, a punch area that defines a plane which, with a longitudinal axis of the shaft, forms an angle in the area of the distal end of the shaft. The distally arranged tool tapers convexly in diameter toward the distal end in the longitudinal direction of the shaft, the external contour lines of the distally arranged tool intersecting, when viewed in a section through a longitudinal central plane, at an angle smaller than 160°.
Abstract: An adapter device, which is configured to couple an endoscope with a medical appliance, such that the medical appliance is provided to generate light to illuminate an object to be investigated by an endoscope, includes an adapter body with a through-hole through which light generated by the medical appliance can be transmitted, and a fastening device to removably secure the adapter body on the medical appliance. The side of the adapter body that is to face the medical appliance is configured to be held form-locked in a predetermined angle position when the adapter body is secured on the medical appliance.
Abstract: A medical instrument serves for cutting off tissue and cartilage from a body. It comprises an outer shaft having at least a first window in a distal end area thereof. A hollow inner shaft is received within the outer shaft and can be rotated about a longitudinal axis of the outer shaft. The hollow inner shaft has at least one opening cooperating with the at least one window of the outer shaft in a cutting action when turning the inner hollow shaft. A further window is provided in the distal end area of the outer shaft which further window is surrounded by a curette having a separating edge. Tissue and cartilage separated by the curette can be cut into small pieces by the cutting edges of the rotatable inner shaft and then be sucked in through an opening of the inner hollow shaft.
Abstract: A handling device for a micro-invasive surgical instrument includes a gripping device to manually hold and guide the handling device, a shaft coupling to detachably mechanically couple the handling device with a proximal end of a shaft, a rod coupling that can slide inside the handling device for detachable mechanical coupling with a proximal end of a transmission rod that can be slid inside a shaft coupled with the shaft coupling, and an orientation device to rotate a proximal end of a transmission rod, which has been inserted into the handling device, into a predetermined orientation or into one of several predetermined orientations.
Abstract: A device for preparing multiple channels in a bone comprises a handle, a single guiding sleeve mounted removable at said handle and an arm projected from said handle. Said single guiding sleeve comprises a central first guiding channel for receiving a first aiming wire, a second guiding channel for receiving a further aiming wire, said channels have parallel axes. At least one cannulation is provided, a central longitudinal axis thereof runs at a distance and parallel to the guiding channels. Said at least one cannulation being arranged offset in a circumferential direction to said second channel. An aiming wire introduced in said second channel can be replaced into a cannulation by pulling off the guiding sleeve turning it about the first aiming wire and reinserting the turned guiding sleeve into said handle.
Abstract: A system for receiving of disposable items in an operating room, where the objects that are to be disposed of and which are equipped with a data carrier are automatically acquired and electronically registered in databases. The data carrier on the objects can be RFID tags or a barcode. The data read out are used in particular to individually recognize the type, quantity, and value of an object and to be able to document and display the type, quantity, and value of an object by using an electronic inventory and value determination process.
Abstract: A light source device for endoscopic or exoscopic applications includes a flat first light source, a second light source, an illuminating beam path that is configured to provide a first light beam emanating from the first light source for an endoscopic or exoscopic application, and a coupling device to couple a second light beam from the second light source into the illuminating beam path, whereby the coupling device is configured in such a way that at the coupling site the cross-section surface of the second light beam is smaller than the cross-section surface of the first light beam.
