  • Patent number: 6129119
Abstract: A flexible tube for lining pipes and ducts as well as a method and an apparatus for manufacturing thereof are suggested. The flexible tube is composed of a coated fabric of high resilient warp threads as well as woof threads having lower elasticity. With the flexible tube thus suggested, strong curvatures or angles being present in the pipes can be lined without wrinkles and all-over for the first time. This is enabled in that the high resilient warp threads are stabilized by covering yarn upon straight pipe portions and hence comprise a limited linear extension such that the flexible tube can be placed inside the pipe in quality. In the curved pipe portions the high elasticity of the basic warp thread is activated by a force increase during passing through these portions by compensating the forces of the covering yarn, such that the flexible tube closely fits to the inner pipe wall, all-over and without any wrinkles in these regions.

  • Patent number: 6053211
Abstract: A method as well as a respective apparatus for lining pipes and ducts are suggested, wherein a flexible tube is introduced in turning up manner into a pipe having respective openings at the pipe access end and the pipe terminal end. Here, prior to the turning up operation, a traction means is led through the flexible tube and the pipe and is secured to the flexible tube access end, wherein the flexible tube with the terminal end of the flexible tube is joined to the pipe access end and the traction means is automatically or distance-controlled pulled from the pipe access end by means of a motor winch. Here, the pipe by using turning up the flexible tube is lined therewith. The method is particularly suited for lining pipes and ducts having a plurality of pipe bends or angles.

  • Patent number: 6050300
Abstract: It is described a method for lining a pipe or a duct through an internal lining of a plastic coated flexible fabric tube adhering to the inner wall of the pipe by means of an adhesive. This method stands for the following steps:filling a metered amount of adhesive into said flexible fabric tube in a uniform distribution over the flexible tube length, introducing said flexible fabric tube into the pipe, wherein one end of said flexible tube is fastened to the rear pipe end with respect to the moving direction, and the flexible tube using turning up is introduced into said pipe, andgenerating an internal pressure inside said introduced flexible fabric tube by means of supplied water for pressing said flexible tube against the inner wall of said pipe until the adhesive between said flexible tube and the inner wall of said pipe is cured. Here, the water is heated and cooled in controlled manner depending on the temperature values measured inside and outside the pipe for accelerating the curing operation.

  • Patent number: 6032698
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for lining a pipe through a sealing internal lining by using a flexible tube including adhesive, which is introduced into said pipe in turning inside out manner and is kept dimensionally stable until the adhesive is cured. To reduce the frictional force during the introducing operation a strip additive is deposited onto the outside of the flexible tube prior to the turning up operation. A strip additive having a gel-like consistence is used to minimize the frictional force. For a uniformly wetting the flexible tube with the strip additive, this is transferred into a liquid condition by heating prior to depositing. After depositing, it quickly cools down to the ambient temperature such that the required gel-like consistence is ensured for the introducing operation. Thereby it is possible to line pipes or ducts comprising several pipe bends an angles within the line course.
