Patent number: 4304543Abstract: A moulding apparatus having a two-part mould movable between a receiving station at which thermoplastics synthetic material is extruded into the mould and a release station at which a moulded hollow body is removed from the mould. This hollow body is then supported by a blowing and calibrating member before being gripped by a two-part gripper which moves the body from the release station to a transfer station in synchronism with the mould movement. The gripper parts are mounted on arms or levers supporting and/or guiding the mould parts.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1980Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Assignee: Kautex-Werke Reinold Hagen GmbHInventors: Heinz Rolniczak, Peter Klusener

Patent number: 4179251Abstract: Multiple extrusion head extrusion-blow moulding apparatus, preferably using a common continuously operating extrusion conveyor, in which apparatus the various extrusion heads have their accumulator pistons driven for identical and simultaneous movement during the extrusion strokes either by means of a common drive means or by separate drive means each controlled from a common control means. Common control may also be exercised over the charging stroke of the accumulator piston.Closed loop control over the wall thickness in dependence upon the final length of the parison, as well as open loop control over the wall thickness in response to a desired program may be imposed simultaneously on the extrusion orifice gap width.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1976Date of Patent: December 18, 1979Assignee: Kautex-Werke Reinold Hagen GmbHInventors: Dieter Hess, Carsten Friedrichs, Werner Daubenbuchel

Patent number: 4150080Abstract: A method of and apparatus for separating off waste material from a moulded article in the production of hollow articles of thermoplastics material by a blowing process in a multi-part mould involves pinching together regions of a partly-made article during closure of the mould parts around it and once a satisfactory weld seam has been created at the pinch regions then increasing the closure speed of the mould parts. Control of the mould closure speed may be effected by open loop control or by automatic control, and may be made dependent on time and/or on displacement of the mould parts. The increased final closure speed can with advantage be equal to the mould closure speed at which the mould parts are moved up to the beginning of the pinching process.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1976Date of Patent: April 17, 1979Assignee: Kautex-Werke Reinold Hagen GmbHInventor: Reinold Hagen

Patent number: 3989437Abstract: Apparatus for the production of hollow articles of thermoplastics material by a blowing process, comprising a hollow mould in which a preform blank is arranged to be expanded by the application of blowing pressure, the mould being formed in at least two parts with the mould parts being movable relative to one another, means supporting said mould parts, means for effective relative movement of the mould parts, and means for taking up the forces resulting from the blowing pressure, comprising a closed frame on which the mould parts are arranged and which comprises upper and lower tie members with side pieces extending therebetween to connect the tie members, the upper and lower tie members being arranged to lie in respective vertical planes which are spaced from one another, and the side pieces being orientated at an acute angle relative to the horizontal.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1974Date of Patent: November 2, 1976Assignee: Kautex-Werke Reinold Hagen GmbHInventors: Erich Kiefer, Heinz Rolniczak, Peter Bohlscheid

Patent number: 3942677Abstract: A closure adapted to be applied to a neck of a vessel or container so as to seal a comparatively wide mouth in said neck has a rim or skirt which is divided up into a plurality of sections by slits between the sections depending from a lid portion of the closure and a stressing or tensioning band placed around the rim, the arrangement being such that there is at most only slight engagement between corresponding screw threads or the like on the neck and in the skirt when the closure is applied to the neck, full sealing engagement between the said screw threads being produced by tensioning of said band after the closure is in position on the neck, such tensioning causing the initially radially outwardly splayed said sections to be pulled radially inwardly on to the neck. The vessel and closure are preferably of thermoplastic material.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1974Date of Patent: March 9, 1976Assignee: Kautex-Werke Reinold Hagen GmbHInventors: Reinold Hagen, Peter Giese, Peter Klusener
