Patents Assigned to Kawaei Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 6238357
Abstract: A health appliance comprises a fitting member fittable in between toes or fingers and having in an interior thereof a pressurized medium charging portion. This portion is expanded in a direction so as to widen a space between the toes or fingers when the pressurized medium is charged therein. A pressurized medium charging port is provided at a location of the health appliance so as to communicate with the fitting member, for charging the pressurized medium into the pressurized medium charging portion.

  • Patent number: 5915404
Abstract: The invention provides a quick exhaust valve which allows compressed air to be smoothly supplied to and discharged from an air bag. The exhaust valve operates reliably even at low pressure or small quantity of air, and is capable of a quick exhaust of air. A valve body (11) has an opening (18) for connecting an exhaust port (17) to an air bag (A), and an inlet port (16) for compressed air. In this valve body (11), a valve member (13) comprising an opening/closing piece (20) for the exhaust port (17) and an opposing piece (21) for the inlet port (16) is arranged so it is movable in a direction to open and close the exhaust port (17). The opening/closing piece (20) and the opposing piece (21) of the valve member (13) are formed into an angle, preferably acute. This allows the opening/closing piece (20) to close the exhaust port (17) when the compressed air from the inlet port (16) is supplied.

  • Patent number: 5245991
Abstract: A therapeutic apparatus for promoting deep breathing in a user has an elastic bag capable of expanding and contracting, the bag having an inlet, and a pipe with a bag engaging flange around one end connected to the bag inlet and a normally closed check valve on the one end for preventing air in the bag from escaping when the check valve is closed. The one end of the pipe and the check valve are made of elastic material and the normally closed check valve has the surface engaged with the pipe defined by a spiral cut around the periphery of the pipe, and the valve is operable by bending the pipe to open the spiral cut.

  • Patent number: 5165393
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for use in deep breathing exercises and includes a bag capable of expanding and contracting, a pipe connected to the bag for allowing air to be blown into the bag, and a check valve provided at an outlet hole of the pipe. At least the air outlet hole of the pipe and the check valve are formed of an elastic material so that the air collected in the bag can escape when the check valve is opened by elastically deforming the pipe adjacent the air outlet hole and the check valve, and so that the escape of the air is stopped when the check valve is closed due to elastic return of the pipe and the check valve. Accordingly, opening and closing of the check valve can be easily carried out so that deep breathing to improve health can be mastered irrespective of age or sex.

  • Patent number: 4552133
Abstract: A rapid exhaust valve for use in a blood circulation stimulator which supplies and exhausts an air to and from an air bag provided on the human body, thereby subjecting to repeated pressure application and release.A valve box, which is provided with an exhaust port on the circumferential wall thereof, is provided with a flexible band valve diaphragm therein. If a compressed air is supplied into said valve box through a compressed-air supply pipe, said valve diaphragm is pushed by the pressure to close said exhaust port and a part of said valve diaphragm is projected into an air bag from an opening communicating with said air bag to allow the compressed air flow into said air bag. When the pressure in said air bag reaches high, said flexible valve diaphragm is deformed so that it may close said compressed-air supply pipe to release said exhaust port whereby rapidly discharging the compressed air out of said air bag.
