Patent number: 11599524Abstract: A database includes a plurality of physical entity records of insurance claims, and each physical entity record includes physical data values for at least one numeric attribute and partition-specifying values concerning values for one or more nominal attributes from one or more insurance claim records. A method for detecting anomalies in the database includes retrieving and partitioning the plurality of physical entity records from the database, training an unsupervised anomaly detection algorithm on the plurality of physical entity records to obtain a trained anomaly detection model for each partition, calculating an anomaly score for each physical entity record using the trained anomaly detection model associated with each partition, and updating the plurality of physical entity records in the database by adding the associated anomaly score. The method is used to determine if a user-provided physical entity record is fraudulent using the anomaly score.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2021Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: KBC Groep NVInventors: Tomá{hacek over (s)} Matyska, Eugen Stripling, Barak Chizi

Patent number: 11593763Abstract: Multiple text parts of a body of an incoming e-mail are determined. For each text part, based on natural language processing, a topic category and a feature vector representation (FVR) are determined. For two text parts comprising a common topic category, a similarity value based on their FVR is calculated, and in case the similarity value fulfills a condition, the two text parts are aggregated into one aggregated text part. For each text part: a reference document is selected based on a FVR of the text part; a recipient is obtained based on the corresponding topic category; and an e-mail comprising the text part, and each selected reference document or a pointer thereto, is sent to the obtained recipient. Via aggregation of text parts based on FVR, computational resources for document retrieval based on FVR is reduced, as well as the number of outgoing e-mails.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2019Date of Patent: February 28, 2023Assignee: KBC GROEP NVInventor: Sarah Michels

Publication number: 20220108196Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer system and a computer program product for event forecasting and information provision are disclosed. For each entity of a group of entities one or more events are obtained, wherein each event is associated with a category of a set of categories. A model category subset of the set of categories, and a target category subset based on the model category subset, are determined. For entities for which for each category of the target category subset an event has been obtained, a sequence of categories of the model category subset is determined, and corresponding probabilities are calculated. For a target entity, a target sequence of categories of the model category subset is determined based on the events obtained for the target entity. A target category is determined based on the target sequence and the calculated probabilities. Information is provided based on the target entity and the determined target category.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2020Publication date: April 7, 2022Applicant: KBC GROEP NVInventors: Barry HAYCOCK, Floyd JACKSON

Patent number: 10929448Abstract: A computer-implemented method determines a category of a request provided by a user by means of a user device. The user device includes connection means and means for receiving a request description relating to said request from said user. The method includes receiving, from the user, the request description, by means of the device, and uploading the request description to a server. The server has access to a database which includes a number of previously categorized requests each including a category and a vocabulary, which includes a number of word vector representations. The method further includes identifying, by the server, a number of component words belonging to a natural language text string included in the request description; obtaining, for at least one of the component words, an associated word vector representation from the vocabulary, and determining a request vector, based on at least one obtained word vector representation.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2018Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: KBC GROEP NVInventors: Hans Verstraete, Hans Verstraete, Pieter Van Hertum, Rahul Maheshwari, Jeroen D'Haen, Michaël Mariën, Barak Chizi, Frank Fripon, Sven Evens
