Abstract: Footwear articles for walking are provided. In one example, a footwear article may include an upper, a midsole coupled to the upper, an outsole coupled to the midsole, and a moderation plate positioned within the midsole, the moderation plate including a toe-off section, a heel section, and a midfoot section positioned intermediate the toe-off section and the heel section, the moderation plate having a plate length that extends from the toe-off section to the heel section that is within a range of 60-95% of an outsole length of the outsole. In this way, the moderation plate may provide rigidity to the midsole while increasing cushion and enhancing propulsion. In turn, a wearer of the footwear article may smoothly walk for extended periods of time with reduced fatigue.

Abstract: A method for fabrication of one or more components of an article of footwear is provided. In one example, the method includes fabricating a mixture of polyurethane (PU) precursors and coffee grounds of a first size using a two-step mixing, and then injection molding one or more components of the article of footwear using the mixture, the one or more components of the article of footwear formed of a coffee grounds-PU composite material.

Abstract: An article of footwear with a hydroplaning-resistant outsole and camouflaged toe cap is disclosed. In one example, an article of footwear includes an outsole with a ground contacting surface including a first and second plurality of angled channels angled relative to longitudinal and lateral axes of the footwear. Each angled channel in the first plurality of angled channels extends from the toe to an outer edge of a mid-foot region of the outsole, and each angled channel in the second plurality of angled channels extends from a back portion of the heel to a front portion of the heel. The ground contacting surface also includes a plurality of lateral waved grooves intersecting the first and second plurality of angled channels, and a plurality of lateral waved sipes intersecting the plurality of lateral waved grooves and the first and second plurality of angled channels.

Abstract: The present application relates to an insulation pack in a wearable article, such as a footwear article. In one example embodiment, the insulation pack includes a perforated air retention and communication layer, an insulating compressible layer, and a reflective layer. In a compressed state, when the wearable article is worn by a wearer, the perforated air retention and communication layer and the insulating compressible layer maintain a lofted air space which is in air communication with an inner body space of the wearable article and acts as an insulating layer. Further, the reflective layer reflects radiated body heat. Thus, the insulation pack may provide a heat retention and insulation system for the wearable article by reducing body heat lost via radiation and conduction.

Abstract: A boot for sealing out environmental elements is disclosed. In one example, the boot includes a drawstring seal between the boot and a leg of wearer. The boot can limit the intrusion of environmental elements to the interior of the boot at least during some conditions.
