  • Patent number: 6706174
Abstract: A filter assembly is for use in a water by-pass compartment of a hot tub. The filter assembly comprises an open-top housing and an operably associated filter basket. The housing is for placement in the by-pass compartment. A support member is positioned within the housing near its open-top. A rigid periphery found on the filter basket sits on a ledge of the support member. The filter basket is made of a water porous synthetic material. Debris is trapped on the filter basket as hot tub water is pulled through it. The filter basket is easily lifted free from the open-top housing and then cleaned if desired or simply replaced with a new filter basket.

  • Patent number: 6471856
Abstract: A pre-filter is for use in a skimmer basket of a hot tub. The pre-filter comprises a stabilizing ring and a shallow shaped cleanable filter permanently secured together. The stabilizing ring is dimensioned for placement within the skimmer basket or on a rim of the skimmer basket. The cleanable filter is made of a water porous synthetic material. Debris is trapped on the shaped cleanable filter as hot tub water is pulled through it on its way to a primary filter apparatus. The pre-filter is easily separated from the skimmer basket, cleaned if desired or simply replaced with a new pre-filter. A paper filter cartridge of the primary filter apparatus in the hot tub has its life significantly increased by use of the pre-filter.

  • Patent number: 6007714
Abstract: An auxiliary filter assembly is for use in a skimmer of residential swimming pools. The assembly comprises an adaptor collar and a cleanable filter basket. The adaptor collar is substantially flat and is for placement on a rim of a below water surface opening within the skimmer. The cleanable filter basket is made of a water porous material. The filter basket has an open top with a substantially rigid stabilizing ring permanently positioned in an edge defining the open top. The ring is dimensioned to rest on the adaptor collar. Swimming water debris is trapped in the filter basket as pool water is pulled through the filter basket on its way to a primary filter apparatus. The filter basket is easily separated from the adaptor collar, cleaned as needed and replaced.
