Publication number: 20220046851Abstract: A control system for use on a peanut harvester using a conveyor to elevate and relocate the peanut pods and attached plant material. The control system inputs the ground speed in the direction of travel and the conveyor speed, and outputs to an electronic flow control valve that is part of a hydraulic circuit between a hydraulic motor that drives the conveyor and a connection point that provides hydraulic power to the hydraulic motor. The control system uses an algorithm that compares the ground speed and the conveyor speed and varies the output to the flow control valve so that the conveyor speed is maintained at a defined percentage of ground speed. The defined percentage of ground speed is a user-controlled variable that can be adjusted on the go through the user interface portion of the control system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2021Publication date: February 17, 2022Applicant: Kelley Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Matthew Rewis, Jason Morris, Bennie G. Patent number: 10980163Abstract: A stalk puller to be used with or without a mower/shredder utilizes a pair of independently mounted discs converging along their lower edge to grasp and pull stalks from the ground as the stalk puller is moved down the row by a prime mover. At least one of the discs is urged against the other by a spring such that the associated disc may allow rocks and debris to pass between the discs without damage. The spring mounting reduces adjustments due to normal wear as well as damage from debris.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2018Date of Patent: April 20, 2021Assignee: Kelley Manufacturing Company, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Rewis, Charles Sumner, Bennie G Branch, Jr.

Publication number: 20140262384Abstract: A coulter disc for use in an agricultural implement is divided into a plurality of segments each having an arcuate pattern of bolt holes offset by a radius r from a displaced center such that material removed in dividing said coulter is accounted for when the disc is reassembled on an implement. The coulter disc is provided with capture devices radially outwardly of the arcuate pattern that connect the edges of the segments to reduce distortion.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: Kelley Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Mike Taunton, Bennie G. Patent number: 5806685Abstract: An apparatus for use in cleaning confinement houses, to be pulled within the confinement house by a small tractor, providing motive force to the apparatus and to its components, is constructed on a wheeled frame, the front of which is connected to the tractor in a manner that allows the height of the leading edge of the apparatus to be adjusted. The leading edge of the frame carries a feeder reel which breaks up the mass of litter and waste on the floor and lifts it to an inclined conveyor. The conveyor is a bar type conveyor in which a plurality of parallel bars are mounted transverse to the direction of travel of the conveyor to urge material along a fixed grate having interstitial separation of such size as to allow sifting of reusable litter from waste litter which is too soiled to be reused. A plurality of panels may be detachably affixed to the grate beneath the bar conveyor thereby allowing the user to determine the amount of reusable material returned to the floor.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1996Date of Patent: September 15, 1998Assignee: Kelley Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Anthony Wilburn Lastinger

Patent number: 4545511Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved peanut seed meter including a peanut hopper bottom having an outer disposed ring for engaging the seed hopper, and an inner disposed dome to define a peanut seed feeding space there-between. The hopper bottom and the dome are connected by a seed drop cover, defining a volume thereunder. A floor plate is disposed beneath the peanut hopper bottom and includes a seed drop aperture thereon. A generally truncated cone-shaped rotating seed plate is disposed above the floor plate and has means thereon for receiving individual seeds. A generally half crescent-shaped taper gate extends from the seed drop cover and around the dome for gating off a portion of the peanut seeds from those being rotationally carried by the rotating seed plate, and to permit a second portion of the peanut seeds to pass therebeneath to the seed drop aperture of the floor plate for planting.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1982Date of Patent: October 8, 1985Assignee: Kelley Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Anthony Lastinger
