Abstract: The invention pertains to headphones that can be folded into a compact size and carried around while they are out of use. To improve operability in collapsing and expanding operations, headphone units are attached to joint portions on respective ends of a headphone band that are movable via vertical movement mechanisms. The vertical movement mechanisms include a pair of suspending members provided on both sides of respective joint portions that are slidable in opposing directions, a holding means arranged between the suspending members, and a pair of rotating members. One end portion of the rotating members is attached to the holding means, which are rotatable via synchronous rotation means. One end portion of the respective rotating members rotatably attaches to a corresponding suspending member, so the holding means is movable in a vertical direction with respect to the suspending members via the rotating members.
