For avoiding pockets the casing parts are sealed with a flat gasket instead of O-rings or other sealing means which cause pockets. In addition, the gears are placed on self-supporting spindles thereby avoiding a guidance or mounting on one side, and which results in a volume meter that can be cleaned with a minimum amount of time and solvent expenditure.
