Abstract: The invention relates to a fertilizer granule containing ammonium nitrate, comprising a core containing ammonium nitrate and a coating layer containing calcium sulphate. The coating layer consists of a mixture containing calcium sulphate and ammonium nitrate. Such a fertilizer granule is preferably produced by contacting the core with an aqueous ammonium nitrate solution and solid calcium sulphate particles, either as a slurry or separately. The production of the fertilizer granule is safe and easy.

Abstract: A fixing agent in the form of an oil/water type, lamellar emulsion or suspension in which the aqueous phase is the principal component, the aqueous phase containing water and a byproduct of agriculture or fermentation and the oil phase containing oil and emulsifiers. The emulsion or suspension is prepared by adding an aqueous solution to the oil phase in order to produce a water/oil type emulsion or suspension, by adding a portion of the aqueous phase in order to produce an inverse oil/water type emulsion or suspension, and by thereafter mixing the oil/water type emulsion or suspension with the remainder of the aqueous phase.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preparing a suspension containing phosphate stepwise directly from raw materials, from phosphoric acid of fertilizer quality, a base and organic additives. In accordance with the method, the phosphoric acid is preneutralised with the base, the organic additives are added, nucleation is controlled and phosphate salts are cooling crystallised in order to form a suspension. The phosphate suspension prepared with the method of the invention is applicable to seed coating.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing thermally and mechanically stable ammonium nitrate by dissolving in nitric acid 1–3% by weight of reticulated metal silicate, before treatment with ammonia. The ammonium nitrate granules produced by this method swell very little, they do not considerably cake, and their granule strength is high.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for recovering a crystalline material from an aqueous solution, which solution also contains organic contaminants, in which process the material is crystallised from the aqueous solution by freeze crystallising at a eutectic freezing point of the solution.
Abstract: The present invention relates to coated plant seeds, comprising seeds coated with at least one fixing agent comprising an asparatic acid derivative, and with at least one plant nutrient. The present invention is further directed to a method for coating seeds, and a coating composition.
