Abstract: A process of producing a highly stable liquid crystal emulsion composition with improved qualities, in which a conventional complicated and costly process that requires specific equipment is streamlined into a simple and less costly process. A method of producing a liquid crystal emulsion composition having liquid crystal structure, comprising the steps of admixing 3 to 8 parts by weight of a hydrophilic surfactant which is a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether having an HLB of 10 to 20 with 2 to 6 parts by weight of a lipophilic surfactant; admixing 5 to 10 parts by weight of the resulting admixture with 5 to 30 parts by weight of an oil component; admixing the obtained admixture with a mixture of 40 to 80 parts by weight of a water-soluble polyvalent alcohol and 8 to 40 parts by weight of water; and heating, homogeneously mixing and then cooling the thus obtained admixture.
Abstract: A method for stimulating cell growth includes administrating to a candidate a sponge protein hydrolysate which is a product by acidic hydrolysis of sponge skeleton fibers (spongin fibers) obtained from refined sponges as the raw material. The product has (i) a molecular weight of less than 5,000, with light coloring, and (ii) a human cell growth stimulating activity. The above substances can be used in the form of food product materials, pet food materials, cosmetics or medicinal products to reduce wrinkles and protect the hair cuticles.
Abstract: A deodorizing/sterilizing device having a cylindrical electrode formed of a sintered metal which mainly contains titanium oxide and can be easily machined by rolling and cutting and a needle-like electrode located generally on the center axis of the cylindrical electrode. By applying a current of high frequency and high voltage, ultraviolet radiation is emitted from the needle-like electrode. The electrode material is little corroded by ozone. Air flows along the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrode, ultraviolet radiation is emitted from the needle-like electrode, the cylindrical electrode has the function of an optical catalyst to achieve deodorization and sterilization.
Abstract: A production process of cellulose fiber is characterized in that tertiary amine N-oxide is used as a solvent for pulp, and a silver-based antibacterial agent and optionally magnetized mineral ore powder are added, followed by solvent-spinning. The cellulose fiber exhibits an excellent long lasting antibacterial effect and serves preferably as medical products such as bandage, gauze, and surgical robes.
