Patents Assigned to Kentrox Industries, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4945533
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a byte-organized serial data stream from a transmitting station to a receiving station that may employ byte boundaries different than the transmitting station. The technique includes sending N different data streams from the remote terminal, where N is the number of different framing alignments that may be imposed on the unframed data stream by the network. The different data streams are chosen so that one will be framed by the network as the intended data stream regardless of which framing alignment is actually imposed.

  • Patent number: 4881221
Abstract: A method and apparatus for disabling an echo canceller in a framed digital network from a remote terminal that is copuled to the network through an unframed data link. Control is effected by sending N different bit sequences from the remote terminal, where N is the number of different framing alignments that may be imposed on the unframed data by the network. The different sequences are chosen so that one will be framed by the network as the requisite control tone regardless of which framing alignment is actually imposed.

  • Patent number: 4354160
Abstract: An amplitude equalizer, suitable for use on telephone lines, is disclosed. The circuit includes an adjustable-gain amplifier, and an adjustable-slope equalizer section. A mixer section serves to combine the input signal with a filtered version thereof, in a manner which enables the installer to bring the line of response to specification level at a first predetermined frequency, and then to bring the line to specification level at a second frequency, without disturbing the previously achieved gain at the first frequency.

  • Patent number: 4220834
Abstract: A telephone line attenuator pad comprises a printed circuit board one portion of which mounts a plurality of resistances each connected in series with a pair of electrical printed circuit conductors. The resistances and mounting portion of the board are potted within a hollow case and the remaining portion of the board, including portions of the printed circuit conductors, projects from the case for removable mounting, in either of two opposing orientations, in an electrical connector to which are connected a plurality of permanent, fixed resistors included in the attenuator network to which telephone line circuitry is connected.

  • Patent number: 4024346
Abstract: A power amplifier for use in uni-directional telephone line signal amplification requirements on voice and data grade circuits includes a balanced input transformer and associated differential line transient protection circuit and line matching network, a balanced differential voltage feedback amplifier circuit with externally interchangeable, balanced, passive, terminated attenuators in the voltage feedback path for varying the amplification factor of the signal amplifying circuit, a balanced-to-unbalanced common mode rejection circuit, low and high cut frequency filters, and a balanced output transformer with associated output line matching and circuit protection components. The interchangeable attenuators are calibrated and marked in terms of overall power amplification resulting from their individual and specific use in the circuit.
