  • Publication number: 20070245903
Abstract: A cutting device (3) for use with a pasta-making attachment (2) for a multi-purpose kitchen machine (1), such as a food mixer or a food processor, includes a housing (21), attachable to the machine, which contains an extruder (22) driven at an appropriate speed from a drive outlet (11) of the machine, and a replaceable pasta die (23), formed with one or more apertures intended to impart a desired shape to pasta material, which is fed to the extruder by way of a hopper (24). The invention provides a cutter (39) enabling the pasta to be cut to a chosen length; the cutter including a hollow, tapered shell member (31) of frusto-conical form, the smaller end (32) of which fits over a part of the housing (21) and the larger end (33) of which is formed with an internal screw thread (34a). A hollow, substantially tubular securing member (35) formed with an external screw thread (346) engages with the internal screw thread (34a) so that the securing member can be screw-fitted to the shell member.

  • Publication number: 20050199137
Abstract: A juicer arrangement is provided in the form of a motor-driven domestic appliance capable of extracting the juice from fruits, typically citrus fruits, and delivering the juice into a vessel positioned adjacent the main body of the appliance. In order to promote clean transfer of the juice into the vessel, and/or resist a tendency for the vessel to be moved away from the main body by reactive forces associated with start-up of the motor, the appliance is provided with a resiliently-loaded outlet duct for the juice which engages with an opening in a lid or cover of the vessel. Preferably, the outlet duct is a substantially straight and hollow tube supporting an outer collar that is spring-loaded for outward axial motion relative to the tube; the collar and/or the tube are retained together to prevent unwanted disengagement of the collar from the tube.

  • Patent number: 6690128
Abstract: A drive system for a domestic appliance provides inner and outer coaxial drive outlets operative at different speeds and comprises an active limb, which incorporates an electric drive motor and a shaft driven by said motor and coupled to the inner drive outlet to drive it at a selected speed. The system also includes a passive limb which incorporates a rotary component; the two limbs being mounted in fixed relationship to one another. A first speed reduction mechanism couples the shaft to the rotary component of the passive limb and a second speed reduction mechanism couples the said rotary component to the outer drive outlet. Conveniently, the rotary component comprises a further shaft, disposed substantially parallel to the driven shaft of said motor, and both limbs of the system are rigidly mounted to, and supported by, a common framework of support members. Both speed reduction mechanisms are typically belt driven, and may provide identical reductions.
